Aspiring Educators

December 2020

Throughout our lives, we base everything on core values. These values can vary between

every single individual, this is why most of us follow different paths in life. Having close bonds

with family, friends, teachers, and even my future students is one of the most important things in

my life. As someone who can see themself as a future educator, this is extremely valuable. I will

come across many situations in the educational field. Not only being coworkers but having a

friendship. Not only having students, but building a connection as their teacher. And not only

working with the students parents, but also having them trust me with their students. But in the

end, the most important thing to me is providing the students with the education they need and

deserve.

I hope to acquire at least my bachelor's degree in early education. But, I do plan on

moving up towards my masters because I believe that it is best to further my education in order

to be able to give the children the best educational experience possible. During my time in

college, I plan to do all of the things that I’ve let myself miss out on in high school. I want to

build more connections with the people around me that could possibly be my future colleagues,

and I want to join clubs, specifically for the LGBTQ+ community, sign language, and something

to do with the Black Lives Matter movement, or anything to do with minorities. I want to join

these clubs not only for me, but so that I can be able to educate and guide my students in the

right direction with what I learn.

Ever since fifth grade, my career path has been very blurry. It has changed so many times

but finally for once in my life I feel certain about working in education. As I’ve grown up in the

Park Hill School District, I have had multiple teachers open my eyes to the world of education.

These have been teachers that have been there for me, counseled me, and have just been the most

inspiring teachers for me to look up to. My freshman year in high school is what really made me

realize that teaching could possibly be my permanent career. I had started doing A+ hours with

second grade students and younger, and then when I was a junior in high school, I took child

growth and development which showed me how amazing it is to see kids listen to you teach, and

actually apply what you say to their everyday lives.

Something that has always been important to me is treating others with kindness and

respect. No matter what skin color, political views, lifestyles, or any other diversities someone

else has. With the events that have occured for the past four hundred years, especially in the

more recent years, it is important to help the students feel comfortable with who they are. I plan

to educate each and every student of mine that it is okay to be different. And it is important to

spread love to people that are different in their eyes. I want my classroom to be a safe place for

any child struggling to open up about something they feel they will be judged about, and I want

my students to know that we are all the same as humans.

As an educator, I feel that it will be my duty to help change the world. I will be teaching

very young children, and you never know if one of them could end up being the president or

even a teacher like myself. I want to shape these students so that they are prepared for anything

that comes their way in life. I will make sure that I impact the students in a positive way so that

they can look back and know that Miss Scott wanted them to follow their dreams. It will be my

job to make sure that these students go on in life wanting to be successful and achieve their life

goals.

In conclusion, being a teacher helps shape the future of the next generations. I want all of

my students to be able to build connections with their peers no matter what diversities are

involved. I want to go above and beyond to provide these students with a strong education, and I

want them to be able to apply core values like honesty, respect, patience, caring, and fairness to

their own lives. Being a teacher is honestly one of the most powerful careers in my life. It helps

prepare children for whats ahead of them, and it also helps them become the best person they can

be today, tomorrow, and the rest of their lives.
