What impact did this have on the social structure of Mexica? What explanations have
scholars offered for this practice?

II. How did the Byzantine empire preserve the legacy of Rome?

III. What were the sources of strength and prosperity, and of problems, for the Incas?

IV. How did the Mongol conquests facilitate the spread of ideas, religion, inventions, and
diseases?
