Seminar #2
▪ Objective: discover in detail the content of
some AIP sections

▪ Task
▪ Use AIP Romania from https://www.aisro.ro
▪ Identify in PANS-AIM the requirements for the content of the AIP sections
ENR 3.3 - RNAV routes
▪ Create a new fictitious RNAV route that has 3 waypoints, of which one is
invented by you and provide its description in an ENR 3.3 table
▪ See AIP Romania for an example

▪ Write a report that describes the steps executed in this task and your
results (10 points)
Step 1
▪ Look at the ENR 6.1 chart
▪ Choose one of the boundary points (such as VILIS)
▪ Choose a second boundary point (such as MAVIT)
▪ Look for their coordinates in the AIP ENR 4.1 table
▪ Invent a 3rd point in the middle of the
▪ Give it a 5-letter designator (letters only, that is based
on your name) - for example EDARD
▪ Choose some coordinates that make sens on the map
- for example, 45 13 06 N, 24 05 12 E
Step 2
▪ Create an AIP ENR 3.3 table in a text editor
▪ Use Romania AIP as example
Step 3
▪ Insert your own waypoints (such as VILIS-EDARD-
MAVIT) including their positions
▪ Calculate bearing/distances for the two route segments
▪ Use https://www.movable-type.co.uk/scripts/
latlong.html

▪ Identify a VOR/DME navaid that is located on the side

of the route, close to the waypoint that you have
created
▪ Calculate bearing/distance from that VOR/DME
from that navaid to your point

▪ Add upper/lower limits, airspace class and navigation

accuracy requirement data that is similar to other
routes in the area
Step 4
▪ Below the resulting ENR 3.3 table,
document the following:
▪ Requirements for ENR 3.3 tables
according to PANS-AIM
▪ Indicate how these are met by the table
headers/structure that you have used
▪ The calculations that you have made for
bearing/distances (screenshots from the
tool used)

▪ Upload your work in Moodle before
