A (very) preliminary list of Telemedicine Companies hiring US-trained physicians abroad

If you are looking to move to a country where licensure is not easily transferred from the US or physician
salary in your new home is significantly less, consider credentialing with a couple of the telemedicine
companies that I have listed below. Most of the companies below are looking for psychiatrists, urgent
care, or primary care physicians.

In order to not burn bridges with any of the companies below, I have not listed their specific rates. That
said, most of their rates are similar – around $23-$28 for a urgent care/primary care visit, with potential
overnight and surge bonuses; and for psychiatry, $160-$180 for new intake that takes 30-45 minutes;
and $75-$80 for a 15-20 minute visit. Some companies require a commitment of several hours each
week.

Volume is dependent on which states that you are licensed in. Some companies (Wheel, Plushcare) will
require you to have more than one state license.

For psychiatrists, there are also other subtleties, including how long ahead of time you are required to
provide your schedule and whether you are compensated for no-shows.

Malpractice coverage is typically included, free of charge, but be sure to check that tail coverage is
included in your malpractice policy, as this may incur extra costs if it is not included.

Below is a list of what we have found so far. Please provide any corrections or additions to this list! If

specialty, so that we can continue to compile resources to empower physicians to practice abroad =).
