Narrator: Another of Anguilla’s National Symbols is the Turtle Dove. Also known as Zenaida Dove. At a competition held in 1992
by the Environmental Club of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, the Turtle Dove narrowly beat out the Kili Kili to
become the National Bird of Anguilla.

Narrator: So students, today we learn to appreciate the ground lizard.The ground lizard is Anguilla’s National Animal. The Anguilla
Bank Ameiva or Anguillan Ground Lizard is found on the main island of Anguilla and most of its surrounding cays. Among the
population, the adults are grey brown tinted with green blue. It is found on the Caribbean islands of Anguilla, St Martin and Saint
Barthélemy in the Lesser Antilles. It lives on rocks or in holes in the ground.
