Creating Wellness from Within

Wellness is a word that we have all heard. But have we ever though about what wellness

really is? I feel wellness is when you have knowledge about what choices lead to a healthy and

fulfilling life and you act in ways towards the goal of having a healthier life. Not only physical

choices about nutrition and exercise, wellness is also for mind, body, and spirit. It is just as

important to have a healthy mind as it is to have a health body. There are many aspects involved

in creating wellness for ourselves. We must ask ourselves, what are those aspects for creating

your wellness?

The first question to find out where one stands in their path to wellness it is necessary to

ask what they feel wellness is. Everyone has their own opinion about what wellness is to them.

Establishing what they feel wellness is will get a starting point. At this point a person may realize

how close or how far they are from what they feel wellness is or should be.

The second question I would ask is what they feel spirituality is to them. I feel this is one

of the most vital questions because spirituality is what gives one a purpose or a way to deal with

everyday conflicts. Using spirituality is a way to cope with world and any roadblocks that come

our way, because life happens! Finding out what their opinion of spirituality is will set the path

to the rest of inventory of questions.

The third question I would ask is, how are they spiritual? Could you do more? Everyone

is different when it comes to how the relate spirituality in their life. Some find it religiously

focused and some are more in tune with nature, or some it is about gratitude and karma. Finding

out how they are spiritual will help us come together to see where they are, what they could use

more of, and how they can use other techniques to improve their spirituality.

The fourth question is asking what they feel are barriers or roadblocks are in their

wellness path. It is important to know what obstacles a person is facing when they are trying to

achieve wellness. You cannot see your barriers always until you think about it in relations to

their goal to wellness. For some it could be as easy as changing priorities and routine. Some may

need more family time and less time alone or the opposite. If there is a will there is a way to

achieve, becoming aware of those issues is so necessary. Awareness is becoming mindful.

That lead to my fifth question, what is being mindful to you and how do you practice it.

Being aware and mindful and steps to strengthen your spirituality. This question is important

because some people do things and are not actually aware, they are doing it. Sometimes we even

tune out what our kids are saying, or what are spouse is saying because we are not being mindful.

We as humans become so trained to do something, that we tend to become less ware of our

surroundings. Being aware is important to have a better understanding of ourselves and others.

The sixth question, how do you deal with stress? Stress is that on word that seems to pop

up every day either in our conversation, in our shoulders, or our necks! Stress is that one word

that has so much weight just the sound of it makes my shoulders tense up! Dealing with stress is

very important of creating wellness from within. This is because if our mind or body or both are

stressed, we cannot achieve balance. Balance in our lives is what gives us harmony. Its kind of

like a seesaw, it goes up and down but is best when both are at the same level everything is

balanced.

The seventh question, what are your goals in terms of wellness. Having a goal or target in

mind to work towards is giving a purpose. Some may have mind and spirituality in the right

place, but because of their diet and lack of exercise they are unable to achieve that balances, that

harmony, or that inner peace. Its kind of the like the prize that you are working towards to

achieve.

The eighth question, how are you going to get to your goals? This is the million-dollar

question. What are you going to do to get to your goal? What is your first step? This is the action

plan, we now know what we think wellness is, what are barriers are, what are goal is, now its

about how to get there. These are our directions to our destination. The path we take is just as

important as reaching the destination. With one wrong turn, if could delay your journey or you

may get lost. These directions are like your syllabus for a class. You must understand all the

directions and rubrics to have success in the class.

The nineth question, who will be your support system? Who are you call when you make

that wrong turn? Who will be your go to person when you are feeling like it is not working out?

It is important to have the right people in your path to get to wherever you are going. Energy and

influence around you can affect you in ways you may not realize. Having people with positive

energy is vital to your success. Have you ever met someone that just sucked all your energy and

your drained? Yes, stay away from those people!

The tenth question, how do you express gratitude? What do you do to give back? Giving

back is an important part of spirituality and karma. The energy we give out, is what we get back

to us, maybe not right then but in a matter of time. Is it very important to express gratitude and

appreciate the things we have. It is only through thankfulness that we can receive more.

your own path to wellness from within is very important to get to the real side of strengthening

our mind and body. Life is all about balance, it can be achieved, one day a time.
