2. Do you agree with the definition given by the author? Justify your answer.

WHAT MAKES PEOPLE SUCCESSFUL?

Who do you think is the most successful? Who do you think is the least successful?

In order to answer these questions, we first need to define success. Everyone has a different definition.
Many of us place great value on performance, on achievements, or on reaching various goals. Others
associate success with material goods, measuring it by how much one can acquire. Others measure
success by how much they can contribute to the well-being of their families, or to the community and society
in general. There are many other definitions, but mostly success is associated with becoming rich, famous,
and respected at work. Yet, it doesn’t have to be that way.

Being successful could mean simply being satisfied with oneself and one’s career. For many people, a
successful person is someone who feels that his or her work and life in general offer an exceptionally high
degree of satisfactions. But how does one get from here to there? How does one reach this feeling of
satisfaction with life and career? It seems that successful people consistently do two things:

•They use their natural abilities in their work.

•They set career and life goals.

In other words, successful people choose careers where they can use their natural abilities, or do what
comes naturally to them. For example, successful teachers are people who instinctively know how to help
people learn, and the best doctors are those who know how to listen to people. Successful people know
where they are starting from, and what direction they want to give their lives and careers, even if it is
something as simple and wonderful as raising a happy family.

What are your natural abilities? What are your career and life goals? If you can answer these questions, you
are on your way to having a successful career and life.

PRODUCTION 😊
1. Write a paragraph about what you consider the key for the success is and why. Include the verbs
phrases learnt. You can also include examples of successful people if you prefer. (15 lines min.)

In my opinion, the key to success currently lies in discipline, perseverance and responsibility,
because in each of our lives we will always require, first of all, discipline, thus ensuring consistency
in favor of building an intellectual base, secondly, perseverance because through perseverance it is
possible to overcome adversities and problems that can hinder our objectives and finally
responsibility because it represents our strongest commitment and desires to be able to fulfill our
goals and objectives. An example that can be taken is what happened with great musicians who
beyond taking classes focused on music, they were disciplined, persevering and responsible with
this profession that initially began as a hobby and it turned out much more than as a hobby, a A
clear example is Tom Morello, who in addition to being the iconic guitarist of Rage Against The
Machine is a graduate of Havard University with honors in political science and according to him, he
comments in interviews, he always wanted to be a great and recognized musician despite the fact
that In his childhood he did not have these resources but despite this he had friends who owned
guitars and he borrowed them for that while saving and learning on his own. Another example of
this is the guitarist John Frusciante who in his childhood practiced and practiced. He instructed
himself by watching videos of the great Jimmy Hendrix and the legend Little Richard and was so
focused on his goal that more than being the guitarist for Red Hot Chil. i Peppers is a great
