Learning Objectives: By the end of the lesson pupils should be able to:

1.Sequence at least 4 out of 7 sentences correctly.

2.Match 4 out of 7 sentences correctly.

Success Criteria: Pupils will be successful if they can:

1.Read and understand the text.

2.Understand the meaning of keywords from the story.

3.Skim and scan information from non-linear text.

4.Use the information to sequence the story.

Activities : Starter – Show Me – Pupils guess the title based on the pictures shown.

2.4’s Brainstorming – Pupils brainstorm by answering questions using mind maps. A writer is
assigned to each group.

3.Take Off Touch Down – Pupils sit for true and stand for false meaning of keywords to test pupils
understanding.

4.Rally Table - Pupils take turns to sequence the story.

Plenary – Take Off Touch Down – Pupils check answers with teacher by sitting and standing for true
or false.
