SUCCESS STORY OF COVID-19, BANGARAMMAPALEM GRAM

PANCHAYAT, SABBAVARAM MANDAL, VISAKHAPATNAM

1. COVID SURVEY :

Four rounds of COVID Surveys have been done by 12 Volunteers to trace people with ill Health in the village
and inform to Health Authorities, if any such cases arise. Regular inspection and Monitoring of Surveys has
been done by ANM, Mahila Police has been deployed to look after the People Health in such areas.

2. CREATING AWARENESS ABOUT COVID-19 :

All the Village Secretariat functionaries and village volunteers took active part in creating awareness to the
people in village about COVID Virus .Daily Mike announcements are made Regarding the Covid-19 Virus and
Precautions to be taken by the public every Morning and Evening .The Volunteers have especially Cautioned
Old Age Pensioners (211No’s) On day to day Basis .ANM and Asha Workers are asked to touch every
households (737 No’s) .The Public are asked to make salt Water Gargling Morning and Evening ,Do Hot
water inhalation and are asked to drink only hot water .The Public are asked to maintain Strictly Social
Distance of 1Meter and to do hand wash for every two hours with soap or sanitizer without fail, No public
Gatherings are Allowed and a vigilance team was formed by volunteers to monitor the public gatherings Day
And Night .The Shops are Limited to open in between 6AM TO 1PM daily and Regular Monitoring was done
by Volunteers and GP Functionaries Regarding wearing of Face Mask which was supplied by the
Government.
3. CREATING CONTAINMENT ZONES, SPRAYING OF SODIUM HYPOCHLORIDE AND MONOTORING OF
COVED CASE :

Whenever a COVID positive traced in the village she has been put in the Home Isolation and the Local
Volunteers Monitored her Movements with Help of Mahila Police. Based On the report of ANM and the
Doctor the Panchayat secretary makes arrangement to create containment zone and, surveyor geo-tags the
zone in Google maps, ANM and Mahila police traces Primary and secondary contact of the covid case and
Uploading of Those Contacts In website was done. Sodium Hypo chloride was sprayed in the Containment
Zone. Tom-Tom was made and asked the people to avoid Movements (In/Out) from the Zone.
4. IMPLEMENTING OF MMPS (MANAM MARI PARI SUBRATHA) :

Implementing of Manam Mana Pari Shubratha is a social work Program which involves all citizens of the
Village to collectively make sanitation clean and thereby Improving the Health of the People ,for this Grama
Sabha was conducted on 01-06-2020 .CEO Zilla Praja Parishad And MPDO Sabbavaram attended to the
Meeting and explained Measures to be taken by the Households in MMPS program so has to enhance and
improve Sanitary Conditions in the Village the .By doing this the quality of life in the village Automatically
improves .A token Amount of Rs.2/- Per Household per day is being collected by volunteers in their
respective Jurisdiction. A joint bank account was open on the name of Village elder and one Volunteer .Till
Today a total amount of Rs.51750/- was collected from the public and deposited in that Bank Account.
5. SETTING UP OF FEVER CLINICS AND CONTINUOUS MONITORING OF PUBLIC HEALTH:

Bi-weekly organizing of fever clinics, immunization and 104 services with regular track of public health and
kept the elder generations away from others in their families so that they are not easily not attacked from
Covid Case especially from asymptomatic persons in the village. Regular chlorination had been done to
prevent water borne diseases .On Every Friday A Dry Day is being Conducted so as to Stop Malaria ,Filaria,
Dengue attacks .

SUCCESS STORY: With a Total of 736 Households and Population of 1966 in the village and Aged Persons of
96 in the village ,the covid virus has attacked only ONE PERSON until Now(i.e 05-09-2020).
We Have Restricted to Only one person with Covid Positive in Bangarammapalem Village of Sabbavaram
Mandal and this was done with the help of our Green Ambassadors ( 2No’s) ,Power Auto drivers
(1No.),Village Volunteers(12No’s) and Grama Sachivalayam Functionaries (7No’s)
