Fostering Effective Relationships

1) A teacher builds positive and productive
relationships with students, parents,

literacy lessons that would give a strong

Strength: I felt students were eager to learn as I
tried to use refreshing and new ways of directing
lessons as students could contribute in a variety of
ways by themselves or with others in groups of
altering size. I also felt confident using digital
techniques such as including student works in class
books readable online, movement to encourage
‘whole body learning’ and tactile expression.

evaluation.
Strength: I felt I was able to capture many student
products and evidence of learning by utilizing
pictures of students discovering in the classroom.

illustrating, building, moving, and observing.
Area for Growth: When designing lessons and a
daily schedule our class would usually play
outside for about 30-45 minutes a day. In the
future I would like to design more intentional or
curricular lessons to be used during play or for
short lessons to strengthen concepts and
scaffold student learning while enjoying physical
activities.
Area for Growth: In the future I would like to
learn how to better develop my instructional
strategies so conceptual findings may be easier
to uncover. I would like my lessons to become
increasingly student led and achievable at
various intellectual levels.
Area for Growth: In the future I would like my

substantial and consistent. Sometimes I would
find periods where I would be so engaged with
individuals or small groups that I would neglect
writing what I had observed and rushing in
smaller windows to make up for previous lost
thoughts.

Establishing Inclusive Learning Environments

 Strength: I felt I had done a good job honoring

Area for Growth: An area of improvement would
be working closer one on one with individuals
collaborating with educational assistants. I would
try harder to build relationships and rapport
outside of learning time or time spent managing
behavior.

Applying Foundational Knowledge about First

Nations, Métis and Inuit
5) A teacher develops and applies foundational
knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit
for the benefit of all students.
Strength: Students understood and engaged in
lessons containing FNMI knowledge. I was
intrigued and provoked to learn more about FNMI
cultures after using the seven sacred teachings to
guide students through their development not
only as students but people.
Area for Growth: I had focused well on objectives
in the program of study but would have liked to
braid more FNMI resources into my instruction. I
hope to discover new web and literary resources
to enhance my practice and honoring of First
Nations, Metis and Inuit people.

Adhering to Legal Frameworks and Policies
