Dear Sir/Madam,

Re: Road works for Garreg Lwyd Hill Wind Farm construction

I am writing to introduce myself as the Community Relations Manager and main point of contact for RES’ 17-
turbine Garreg Lwyd Hill Wind Farm - situated between Felindre and Llanbadarn Fynydd in Radnorshire,
Powys - to provide you with advance notice of upcoming road works to facilitate its construction.

Road works are due to take place on the edge of the Mochdre Industrial Estate (see location drawing below)
from 29 March and will continue through to the end of July. This activity is part of a programme of
construction work along the A483, which will vary in terms of impact and duration, and are scheduled at
various intervals throughout the next four months. The works in this location are not related to the
construction of the Newtown Bypass.

To facilitate the delivery of turbine components to the wind farm later in the year, a temporary link road
needs to be constructed to connect Heol Ashley (which runs through the Mochdre Industrial Estate) to the
A483 at a location approximately 1.2km south of Newtown. Once constructed, the link road will not be
accessible by members of the public.

Residential and business access will remain unaffected by the construction of the link road however there
will be a noticeable increase in construction traffic along Heol Ashley.

In the interest of safety, and in agreement with Welsh Government and the relevant authorities, appropriate
traffic management measures, such as temporary traffic lights and appropriate signage, will be implemented
on the A483 when the road network is connected. Throughout these works the small team of workers will
make every effort to keep the temporary disruption to a minimum.

Normal working hours for this construction activity will be Monday to Friday, from 7:30am-7:30pm, and
between 7:30am and 1pm on Saturdays.

More information about the wind farm can be found on the project website (www.garreglwydhill.co.uk) which
will be regularly updated so that people can easily track the latest progress of these works. RES will also
continue to write directly to identified residents and businesses along sections of the A483 which may
potentially be impacted by the planned road works.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss any of the above, please don’t hesitate to contact me via the
details below.

Yours faithfully,

Samantha Mayes
