Language Arts – Compound nouns Objective: Ss will be able to recognize compound words. Warm up (10’) Ss will be organized in groups. Each group will receive a set of puzzles. Ss will look at their puzzles and discuss about what they have in common. Ss will receive word labels and match them to the corresponding puzzles on the board. Presentation (15’) Ss will watch a YouTube video: Compound nouns game. Ss will define what a compound word is. T will elicit some examples as well as sentences using compound words. Practice (20’) Ss will receive a puzzle template and create a puzzle using a compound word. Ss will exchange their puzzles with other teams.
