It’s OK to be an introvert.
Why don’t you talk more? Is something wrong with you? Why are you being so quiet?
This is probably the number of question that introverts hear, often many hundred of times
in their life. Why people just don’t understand that being quiet is a natural state of being?
According to the Oxford Dictionaries, an introvert is a person predominantly concerned with
their own thoughts and feelings rather than with the external things. Introverts are the kind
of people that gain energy through solitary activities like reading books, listening to music,
etc. Whereas, an extrovert is a person predominantly concerned with external things.
Extroverts tend to enjoy human interactions and to be enthusiastic and talkative.
“But does it matter that much? It’s just some psychological personality type.”
Being an introvert person, often people ask me to live as an extrovert. And when I say
what’s wrong if I am an introvert. The turnaround reply would be you need to create
network, socialize and the like. Often people have a pre conceived notion in their mind that
introverts are arrogant, shy and anti-social.
Instead, Introverts are not anti- social people. Introverts can socialize with others just like
any other person. But in a quite different way as compared to extroverts.
So, It’s Ok to be an Introvert.
Thank you.
