What the living wage is in Ontario
What the living wage is in Windsor-Essex
Activity: (How will I get my mentees involved in this break-out?)
Mentees will complete a living wage Activity sheet
o Takes into account gross income, living expenses, leisure activities etc.
Mentees will be asked the following questions
o What they think is missing from their basic budget?
o If they think their wage is enough for all their expenses? And,
o How much/less do they need hourly to meet their needs?

Debrief: (What did the mentees learn from what I just did?)
The current minimum wage alone isn’t really enough to survive in Ontario as
the cost of living continues to rise

Mentees will learn the motivation behind the $15 and fairness movement
Mentees will complete a worksheet that creates a budget using the monthly
salary of someone earning the current minimum wage in Ontario
