Starting in the new year, weekend transit riders going to and from Niagara Falls will need
to catch a GO bus instead of a train.
Attention weekend, outdoor warriors.GO Transit is changing the way customers get to Niagara
Falls for the remainder of the winter.
As of Jan. 9, GO Transit customers heading to or from Niagara Falls on the weekend will need to
catch a GO bus instead of the train.
GO customers can use the existing Route 12 GO buses, which run hourly in both directions and
connect with Lakeshore West trains at Burlington GO Station. Get more information on GO
schedules, here.
The transit agency says they are changing the service for the winter season to match customer
demand and use resources more efficiently.
GO Transit says weekend GO train service will likely resume in the spring.
Customers with mobility concerns should note the elevators at Burlington GO will be out of
service until early 2021, while Metrolinx replaces the elevators at that station. Customers can
find more information on accessibility information here.
And remember no matter what vehicle you’re on, don’t forget your face covering as they are
essential to keeping everyone safe and are mandatory on GO Transit.
