For 3G networks, the components are RNC at the H side and Node # at the remote site. The customer is responsible to supply a 26/36 network, cont and the PSTN 1 The 26/36 network should be enabled to work with Satellite delay on the A-bis Interface 1m Specific tests in this ATP require the customer to supply equipment (phones, SIM ‘ards, PCs, applications, switches, servers, ports, ete) in order for these tests to be carried out. Failure to supply this equipment will prevent these tests from being, perform 1 A2G/2G service engineer who is familiar with 26/36 over Satellite must he present luring the integration and testing pracess. The engineer must be capable of “tuning” the BTS/ Node configuration. It should he noted that fremote-controlled configuration of the BTS/ NodeB isnot passible, the engineer may be required to travel to remote BTS, Nadel sites in order to periorm such configuration Ifthe ATP includes customer specific applications, they must be pre-tested to verify ‘that they can be run over the satelite link. ted tothe Internet “This document details the Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) for testing the 26/36 ‘Remote Site installation. It also serves to record the Acceptance Test Results (ATR), ‘The ATP describes the test procedures in a general manner, and not necessarily as detailed step-by-step procedures. These tests must be performed by knowledgeable and experienced technical personnel Testing will ake place upon completion ofthe remote site inst will include formal remote site service testing, These tests verif communications is properly established. The tests contained inthis document constitute the ATP. These tests must be ‘witnessed by the customer, Results will be summarized and a punch ist ‘generated (ifnecessary) upon completion ofthe testing, The result section of ‘each test is a surmmary of the major results and is to be signed both by the customer and tester. ion, This tes that end-tovend (la Sete Nets | Crk nd Popes oman | Prerequisites The co-located Node B/BTS should work terrestrially with the RNC/BSC prior to starting the ATP. As part ofthe prerequisites for the ATP, these componenits should be conmected through a delay simulator and it should be verified that calls and SMSs are received and transmitted properly with a delay ot up to 850msec. All the NODE B/BTS stations that will be working through the SkyEdgell-c system should reside within a separate “Location Area Code" (LAC) that will not include any terrestrial, microwave, or other NODE B/BTSs. The reason is due to the paging process, which should be using different timers ifthe NODE 2/BTS is terrestrial, microwave, satellite or other. 12 Git Sutaie Netacrhs | Conde and ProptaryIntrmation Test Configuration ‘The system and protocol parameters are set as expected in the operational network according to the Sizing Spreadsheet. If Technical Support personnel determine that some parameter changes are required or, if the Sizing Spreadsheet is not available, they will perform the necessary changes at the site. A diagram of the network is shown in the figure below. Figure 1: 26/3G over SEll-c Network Diagram ‘The mobile telephones referred ton this drawing are configured to BE communicate as fallows: Test Philosophy ‘The philosophy ofthis ATP is to test critical functions in an operational environment. Thus, “artificial” configurations are not used. The ATP is intended to be carried out by a knowledgeable tester with specific details explained to a customer witness as necessary. Itis suggested that the Gilat test director maintain the “official” copy of the ATP document and that all parties involved initial any changes made, a For all procedures in this ATP, both the Gilat and customer representatives should initial each test result in the form for cach test procedure, The ATP will be performed after the final configuration of the network.
