Geological Description
Geological Description
This le gives a geological description of the heterogeneities that occur
based on knowledge of the regional geology (such as paleoslope, paleo
water depth, gross environments of deposition, size and shape of
sedimentary bodies, structural trends and style) which is normally known
from adjacent elds and wildcat wells. In the geological interpretation, the
layer thicknesses, which are all in the order of 5 meter, played an important
role.
• Layers 1, 3, and 5 have linear streaks of high-porous sands (phi > 20 %),
with an azimuth somewhere between 110 and 170 degrees SE. These sand
streaks of about 800 m wide are embedded in a low porous shale matrix
(phi < 5 %). The width and the spacing of the streaks vary somewhat
between the layers. A summary is given in Table 3.
