Q.no1 :Classify each as Nominal level,
ordinal level, Interval and Ratio
level?

Ans: 1 Weight of car

Ratio level
2Marital status
Nominal level

3 Salaries of top five executives in

bank
Ordinal level

Q.no3 :What is frequency distribution?

give examples.
Ans: Frequency distribution is a
representation that displays the number
of observations within a given interval.
The representation of a frequency
distribution can be graphical or tabular
so that it is easier to understand.
OR
A frequency is the number of times
a data value occurs. For example, if ten
students score 80 instatistics, then the
score of 80 has a frequencyof
10. Frequency is often represented by the
letter f. A frequency chart is made by
arrangingdata values in ascending order
of magnitude along with
their frequencies.
Example no2:A frequency
distribution table is one way you can
organize data so that it makes more
sense. Forexample, let's say you have a
list of IQ scores for a gifted classroom in
a particular elementary school. The IQ
scores are: 118, 123, 124, 125, 127, 128,
129, 130, 130, 133, 136, 138, 141, 142,
149, 150, 154.

Types of Frequency Distribution:

Grouped frequency
distribution.Ungrouped frequency
distribution.Cumulative frequency
distribution.Relative frequency
distribution.Relative
cumulative frequency distribution.
Advantages of frequency distribution:
The advantage of using frequency
distributionsis that they present raw data
in an organized, easy-to-read format. The
most frequently occurring scores are
easily identified, as are score ranges,
lower and upper limits, cases that are not
common, outliers, and total number of
observations between any given scores.
Characteristic of frequency distribution:
Measures of central tendency and
location (mean, median, mode) Measures
of dispersion (range, variance, standard
deviation) The extent of symmetry/
asymmetry (skewness) The flatness or
peakedness (kurtosis).
Types of frequency distribution:
Types of Frequency Distribution

Normal Distribution. The
normal distribution, also known as a
Gaussian distribution or “bell curve” is
the most common frequency
distribution.
...Skewed Distribution.
...Bimodal/Multimodal Distribution.
...Uniform Distribution.
...Logarithmic/Pareto.
...PERT/Triangular.

Limitations of frequency distribution:

The advantage of a grouped frequency
distribution is that it is small enough for
you to get a pretty good idea at a glance
how the scores are distributed.
The disadvantage is that you are lumping
scores together, thus losing some of the
information in the original scores.
Uses of frequency distribution:
A frequency distribution is an overview of
all distinct values in some variable and
the number of times they occur. That is, a
frequency distribution tells how
frequencies are distributed over values.
Frequency distributions are mostly used
for summarizing categorical variables.
We can find frequency distribution by the
following steps: First of all, calculate
the range of the data set. Next, divide
the range by the number of the group
you want your data in and then round up.
After that, use class width to create
groups Finally, find the frequency for
each group.
