1. Discuss the importance of the Sales and Marketing Department.

The marketing department is accountable for leading and directing


other departments in expanding, producing, fulfilling, and servicing products or
services for their customers. The marketing department should have a better
knowledge of the market and customer needs, but should not act independently
of product development of customer service. Where marketing is involved there
should be a meeting of the minds, where discussions are held regarding new
product development or any customer-related function of the company. The high
competition among the hotels, need a competent team of Sale and Marketing to
promote the product among the competitors. They're responsible in building the
image of the organization among the customer, for putting up an effective sales
and marketing plan, for carrying out market research product development
campaign, for finding new segment in the market, and is accountable for
bringing business and helping out finance department accomplish the set targets.

2. Describe the importance of Hotel Branding

Creating a brand name for a hotel is one of the most important things.
A solid brand will end up being an incredible resource over the long run.
Meaningful and remarkable branding can carry stunning advantages to your
business, including the capacity to bring in clients simply because of your
reputation. Branding helps you outdo your competition. With the advancements
