It is important for the school leader to plan the school budget in relation to the academic

goals of the school so students may take classes they need, to optimize current
teaching and learning investments, to start new initiatives, improve student
achievement, to be able to assign limited resources to high-priority organizational and
educational needs, and it also improves efficiency.
These academic goals can be integrated into the budget through things like the use of
data. With data as one of the tools being used, schools can determine things like what
initiative/resource is assisting or impeding goal attainment. Those funds can then be
placed where they can be used more effectively toward the goals of the school.
Continually evaluating the students' progress will aid in the process of determining what
is working best for the children. Once it has been determined what resources are better
aligned to attain the goals, the school leader can alter spending as seen fit.
