Re-emerging diseases
?
Emerging diseases are defined as
infectious diseases that newly
recognized in a population or have
existed but are rapidly increasing in
incidence or geographic range.

Baru --> new-emerging

Pernah ada dan muncul kembali -->
re-emerging
New emerging diseases are diseases
that are newly recognized in a
population and rapidly increasing in
incidence or geographic range.

Re-emergence is the reappearance of

a known disease after a significant
decline in incidence.
New-emerging and re-emerging diseases
are exist may be new infections resulting
from changes or evolution of existing
organisms, known infections spreading to
new geographic areas or populations,
previously unrecognized infections
appearing in areas undergoing ecologic
transformation, or old infections
reemerging because of antimicrobial
resistance in known agents or
breakdowns in public health measures
New-emerging
diseases
Diseases that (1) have not occurred in humans
before (this type of emergence is difficult to
establish and is probably rare); (2) have occurred
previously but affected only small numbers of
people in isolated places (AIDS and Ebola
hemorrhagic fever are examples); or (3) have
occurred throughout human history but have only
recently been recognized as distinct diseases due
to an infectious agent (Lyme disease and gastric
ulcers are examples)
Sebagian besar infeksi yang baru muncul
bersumber dari binatang atau yang biasa disebut
zoonosis dan merupakan hasil mutasi dari
penyakit awal.
Re-emerging
diseases
Re-emerging infectious diseases are
diseases that once were major health
problems globally or in a particular
country, and then declined
dramatically, but are again becoming
health problems for a significant
proportion of the population (malaria
and tuberculosis are examples).
