Operation
Space out the PC-1 Tubing Anchor Catcher just above or below the pump seating nipple for
best results and run tubing to desired depth. Rotate the tubing to the left (left hand set model) to
set the PC-1. The number of turns to set the anchor catcher varies depending on size and weight
of casing it is being set in. Hold left hand torque into tubing and conduct a compression test to
ensure the slips are holding. Set down 4,000 to 7,000 daN (9,000 to 15,700 lbs) multiple times
each time picking back up to neutral. Pick up to confirm desired amount of tension is in tubing
string and tubing space out is correct. Put tubing string in tension using conventional methods.
To retrieve the PC-1 Tubing Anchor Catcher rotate the tubing string to the right (left hand set
model) while in neutral. If the PC-1 does not release with normal procedures pull the required
pre-set tension above string weight releasing the anchor using the emergency secondary shear
release system.
Features
• Tough and reliable drag block design.
• Sets and releases using tubing rotation.
• Available in right hand set/left hand release models.
• Field adjustable emergency secondary shear release.
• Retrievable, double grip design.
• Available with carbide slips.
• Slips are fully retracted after releasing preventing slip damage.
• Meets NACE MR-01-75 specifications for H2S.
• Corrosion resistant slip and drag block springs.
Operation
Space out the TML Tubing Anchor Catcher just above or below the pump seating nipple for
best results and run tubing to desired depth. Rotate the tubing to the left (left hand set model) to
set the TML.
To retrieve the TML Anchor Catcher rotate the tubing string to the right (left hand set model)
while in neutral. If the TML does not release with normal procedures pull the required pre-set
tension above string weight releasing the anchor using the secondary emergency shear release
system.
Features
• Tough and reliable design.
• Sets and releases using tubing rotation.
• Available in right hand set/left hand release model.
• Field adjustable secondary emergency shear release.
• Retrievable, double grip design.
• Slips are fully retracted after releasing preventing slip damage.
Operation
Attach tubing anchor to tubing and run to desired depth. Space out tubing using conventional
methods in compression, tension or neutral. If a temporary plugging device is not already in the
tubing string one must be installed before setting. Apply tubing pressure against temporary plug-
ging device installed below anchor to set tubing anchor.
A straight pull on the tubing string above the pre-determined tubing anchor shear out force will
release the anchor for retrieval.
Features
• Rugged design.
• Shear pinned to prevent premature setting.
• Straight pull to release.
• Adjustable shear to release.
• Sets in tension or compression.
• Double grip design prevents upward or downward movement.
Operation
Install the Dual String Anchor Body onto the long tubing string at the required point so that
when the long string is landed the anchor body is at the required landing depth for the short tub-
ing string. Once the packer has been set and the primary tubing string landed, the latch sub is
attached to the bottom of the short string and run in. The sub will automatically locate and latch
into the Dual String Anchor.
Release the latch sub with 1/3 of a turn to the right at the anchor and then apply tension to the
short tubing string. Anchor Body is retrieved with the primary or long tubing string.
Features
• Cost effective and reliable.
• Allows short tubing string to be pulled into tension.
• Prevents short tubing string from falling should it part.
• Short tubing string in tension increases pump efficiency and minimizes rod and tubing wear.
• Latch sub automatically latches into anchor body and releases with 1/3 of a turn to the right.
• Meets NACE MR-01-75 specifications for H2S environments.
Features
• Simple design.
• Reliable.
• Allows tubing to rotate freely.
Tubing Drain
The Tubing Drain provides a means of draining or circulating through tubing when pulling out
of the hole where the tubing is unable to drain or be circulated normally. To open the drain ports
pressure is applied to the tubing which will shear the shear pins in the shifting sleeve and open
the Tubing Drain Sub. The amount of pressure required to open the drain ports is easily field
adjustable.
NOTE: Once the drain ports have been opened they will remain open until serviced on surface.
Features
• Simple reliable design.
• Field adjustable shear value.
• Available in a wide variety of material and thread combinations.
Operation
The Reverse Tubing Drain is usually positioned in the tubing string above a packer. When
communication is required between the casing annulus and tubing, the required casing annulus
pressure is applied shearing the shear screws, shifting the sleeve and opening the drain.
Features
• Provides communication between casing annulus and tubing.
• Simple, reliable design.
• Easily field adjustable shear.
• Activated by differential pressure.
• Unaffected by tubing pressure, tubing movement or flow rate.
