A Narrative Report on the In-Service Training for Teachers

As an effective way to hone and develop the skills of the teachers in their teaching delivery, an
In- Service Training for Teachers is always conducted semi- annually by every public school in
the Philippines. This helps teachers to do the necessary preparation on enhancing the teaching-
learning process to meet the objectives of the new curriculum- the K to 12.

The training started with a formal opening program: Doxology, Nationalistic Song, and
Zamboanga Hermosa Hymn. To brighten the mood of everybody, an energizer was initiated by
Mr. Maxcy Tuala, EPAS Adviser. It was followed by a recap given by Mr. Macdenick Lim,
HUMSS Faculty.

Since the 3rd day is for the demo-teaching of the selected teachers, Ms. April Pamaran,
Secretary of Faculty Club introduced the demo teachers. Three teachers performed the demo
teaching in the morning session, while two were in the afternoon. The following were the demo
teachers on the said training: Mrs. Farrah Dua (Reading and Writing), Mr. Nonoy Barisoro
(Filipino sa Piling Larang), Ms. Gladyz Flores (Research), Mrs. Joannette Paalan (Caregiving),
and Mr. Adriel Jan Bruno (Earth and Life Science). The newly hired teachers and some students
were the audience of the aforementioned demo teachers.

In the afternoon session at exactly 2 p.m., a post conference for the demo teachers was given
by the process observers. This was followed by the presentation of outputs (unpacked LCs and
lesson exemplars) of each track, giving of impression by Mrs. Sidra A. Arip, awarding of
certificates by Mr. Rogen J. Jahari, ASP for Academics and Post Evaluation by Mr. Sharif Zamir
A. Caluang, Science Faculty. Mr. Jabir G. Muji, Vice President of Faculty Club, gave the closing
remarks.

The training was indeed a successful one filled with so much learning and fun that were evident
on the duration of the said event.
