HOW to estimate your

water usage for your

#organicfarm
START/INVEST in an #organicfarm

What you will learn by taking your time to read this article and the free
calculator linked to it that is called #IrrigationManager :

● calculate the exact water usage needed

● choose the right crop(s) for your specific plot water resources
● learn the basic requirements of a irrigation analysis to achieve
maximum yields

STEP#0 - First thing first, with a valid gmail account go to the top left menu

to File ->Make a copy to create your own instance of the tool and be able to

access the full Big Data algorithms

Let’s start with the header information needed to complete such a

calculation:

STEP#1 — input the total area of the plot needed for irrigation
and don’t worry if you don’t know it yet because it has a link built in to

an additional site that helps you measure just that, just remember to

input the AREA in ha in #IrrigationManager:

and then choose your most likely soil type :

followed closely by your plot exact location:

Step#2 — With the exact latitude and longitude location input your

medium minimum temperature forecast/month in the table header:

Do the same for STEP#3 for medium max Temperature/month and

STEP#4 for medium Precipitation/month as they are very much similar

steps.

Follow the next STEPS by playing only with the input cells from left to

right and by numbering and check for error messages in the

#IrrigationManager calculator for it is designed to ensure both the

hydraulic calculations and verifications of water usage necessity are in

check.

Also crosscheck the comments and the visual design to understand

better the input cells.

After cross-checking your design with your central sketch and following

the Steps from 5 to 10 you will be able to see the RESULTS in the

footer of the calculator which are the exact requirements needed by a

controller to run an irrigation automation.

Please note that the #IrrigationManager is only a forecast tool that is

relevant when starting out based on free Big data integration, in real

case scenarios you need to calibrate your calculations with on-site

installed sensors by making use of the Internet of Things technology.

strategies take your time to read the Maximize your PLOT ebook here,
