Line current (Delta-connection balance load)

 𝐼𝑎 = 3𝐼𝑝 ∠0∘

 𝐼𝑏 = 3𝐼𝑝 ∠ − 120

 𝐼𝑐 = 3𝐼𝑝 ∠120
Three watt-meter method
 Boucherot’s Law : if the circuit contain n load and each load absorbed power 𝑃𝑖
then power total is 𝑃𝑡𝑜𝑡 = σ𝑛𝑖=1 𝑃𝑖
 Since Delta-connection has three loads then 𝑃𝑡𝑜𝑡 = 𝑃1 + 𝑃2 +𝑃3
 Moreover that three loads is balance then 𝑃1 = 𝑃2 = 𝑃3 ⇒ 𝑃𝑡𝑜𝑡 = 3𝑃𝑖 = 3𝑉𝐿 𝐼𝑝
 𝑃𝑡𝑜𝑡 = 139 + 136 + 135 = 410𝑊 1
 𝑃𝑡𝑜𝑡 = 3 × 242 × 0.56 = 406.56𝑊 2
 Since (1) and (2) is similar than the equation is verified
Two watt-meter method
 𝑃𝑡𝑜𝑡 = 𝑃𝑤1 + 𝑃𝑤2 = 2𝑉𝐿 𝐼𝐿 𝐶𝑜𝑠 𝜑
 where 𝜑 is the phase different between line voltage and line current. So 𝜑=30
 So 𝑃𝑡𝑜𝑡 =2𝑉𝐿 𝐼𝐿 𝐶𝑜𝑠 30
 𝑃𝑡𝑜𝑡 = 200.28 + 197.87 = 398.15W 1
 𝑃𝑡𝑜𝑡 = 2 × 242 × 0.95 × 𝐶𝑜𝑠 30 = 398.19W (2)
 since (1)≈(2) we can say that the equation is verified
conclusion

 After the experiment we can see three watt-meter method and two watt-meter
method is equivalent
 Delta-connection provide high current and high voltage so it will be more
dangerous than star connection
 Since it has high voltage and current then it bring more power lost than star-
connection.
