How do you download a book from Scribd?

You can; however, it’s likely that most of the stuff you’re downloading is pirated.

There is a loophole in the DMCA that only allows the copyright owner to file a DMCA complaint.
Rarely does the owner even know about the infringement, and if they do and file a complaint and go
through the whole DMCA process, then Scribd is told to take down that particular copy. If ten
different individuals uploaded the same book, ten complaints are required, one for each uploader
(this is because Scribd is a “content provider”). That also means any litigation that may result will
focus on whoever uploaded the content, not Scribd!

If you’re okay with doing that, I won’t tell you what to do. But don’t go into it thinking that Scribd is
an ethical or even arguably a legal service.
