1. What is the research question?

The research question is a double edge comparison: “What comparison mindsets do depends

on whether self or group representations are focal “

2. Is the design of the study well suited to answer the research question?

The design used by the research suits the research question. The researcher used a Multilevel

approach. This is an appropriate method as it provides a repeated measurement for

individuals and helps to multivariate repeated measurements. This design is able to evaluate

experiments without the assumption of homogeneousness of reversion gradients that are

required.

3. Is the research generalizable?

Despite being experimental research, the research is not generalizable because the researcher

only used a small sample that cannot be representative of the whole population. Generalizable

research should be able to take a careful examination of his variables involved in the

research. The larger the sample size, the more one can generalize the results.

4. What are the measurement concerns in the study what are the strength and

weakness of the study?

The main measurement concern in the study is the sample size selected which was a small

representation of the population this was likely to give results that were not accurate. This

makes the study weak as it does not represent the actual population. The strength of the study

is that it follows the rules of a typical research paper and the methodology used suits the

research topic.
