CANDIDATE’S ROLE

You are at a shop.

The examiner is a shop assistant.
Try to exchange a jumper you bought yesterday.

You don’t have a receipt.

Jumper too small –get a bigger one.
Don’t accept any other colour.
Try to get a refund if there is any problem.

You have to solve the problem

You speak first.
Begin: “ Could you help me”

EXAMINER’S ROLE

You are a shop assistant

The candidate is a customer trying to exchange a jumper.

Ask about the receipt

Ask who served him
Offer bigger size in different colour, as you don’t have it in the required colour
Don’t agree to give a refund - not possible without a receipt.
Suggest exchange for something else.

The candidate speaks first, saying:

“Could you help me?”
When you wish to finish, say,
“OK! I hope you will visit us again”
