Diploma in Vocational Education and Training (DVET), 2019-20

The Diploma in Vocational Education and Training (DVET) is launched by PSSCIVE,


Bhopal dated on April 02, 2019. Prof V. K Jain, Coordinator of the programme
introduced the inaugural session by giving some insights on DVET.

Prof. Grewal, senior educationist was invited as a chief guest. He shared his valuable
findings and opinions on the basis of experiences regarding launching of various
courses during his in-service. He is experienced faculty of guidance and counselling,
launched several programmes on distance and regular mode.

Mr. Tarun Bedi from EDII was invited as expert. He shared his hands on experiences
of his own institutes and government schemes. The work of world is changed and now
shifted to schemes like start ups.

Prof Mridula Saxena , Incharge Joint Director was chairperson of the programme. She
explains the importance of this programme along with the challenges and various ups
and downs faced while launching it.

Four enrolled Participants, 3 from Tripura and one from Bhopal has attended the
inaugural session. Participants have given their introduction including their school
name, specialization and teaching experience.

A formal Vote of thanks has been given by Dr. Ankita Pandey, Consultant –DVET,
PSSCIVE – Bhopal.

The Main objective of this programme is to facilitate participants. In order to respond


to a wide variety of skill needs of the VET teachers / trainers. The Diploma in
Vocational Education and Training (DVET) programme has been designed and
developed to prepare teachers / trainees as instructional designers and assessors so
that they can become master trainers for addressing the training needs of the
learners. They would also be expected to play a vital role in providing guidance and
advice to other trainers and assessors and promoting innovative practices in (VET).
Teachers / trainees will learn to design and develop instructional and assessment
strategies in VET through demonstrations, practical sessions, group work and case
studies. The graduates of DVET programme will be able to apply knowledge and skills
to initiate, plan, implement and evaluate knowledge and skills related to VET and also
respond to the challenges, issues and opportunities for change in VET. They may play
a leading role in mentoring the future trainers in VET.
