Assessment Guide

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Dear student,
Remember the following when doing your online activities:

 Carefully read the instructions.


 Check your didactic guide with the activities and supporting material. You
might need first to review your didactic guide and do the activities there.
 Plagiarism will be graded 0 (zero).
 All the assignments are compulsory.
 All the activities must be submitted by the UNAE virtual environment (Aula
Virtual).
 Submit your distance assignments by the specified due date. Late submissions
will not be accepted.
 Include a cover page in all your essay assignments. (Include your name,
teacher’s name, class, parallel and date of submission)
 Do not forget to cite all the sources you use in APA format.
 The activities will be completed weekly. Please, refer to the following

WEEK 1
Video Conference 1: Cause and effect – Listening 1
Date: Tuesday, November 18th, 2020

Assignment 1: Color in nature


Due date: Monday, November 24th, 2020 midnight
Length of the video: 1 min minimum

Prepare a video where you talk about color and nature. Use statements with cause and
effect (minimum 5).

Remember to do the compulsory listening activities and upload them to the virtual
classroom.

Date: Tuesday, December 1st, 2020

Today we will log in our liveworksheet accounts to do some listening practice.

Remember to do the compulsory listening activities and upload them to the virtual
classroom.

Assignment 3: Present a building design


Due date: Friday, December 18th midnight

You and your partner are going to design a house or an apartment building. As you
prepare your design, think about the question “How can colors de useful?” and refer to
the rubric below.
Look at the photos. Then discuss the following questions:

 Which building do you like the most? Why?


 Which building do you like the least? Why?
 Do you like buildings that blend into their environments or buildings that are
unusual? Explain.

Gather ideas
1. Decide the type of building. Is it an apartment building of a house?
2. Choose a location for the building. Is your building in a city, a town, or the
country?
 Desert area: dry without many green plants
 Forest area: green with a lot of trees
 Large city: downtown with a lot of people and buildings
 Large city: quiet street near the edge of the city
 Beach town: near the ocean
Organize ideas

3. Discuss with your partner what the building looks like from the outside. Then
write an outline in your notebook, using the categories below.

 Building type
 Location
 Materials (concrete, wood, glass, metal, etc.)
 Outside colors
 Plan (how big, how many floors, how many rooms, etc.)
 Does it blend in with the environment or draw attention by being unusual?

4. Present your building design. Refer to the self-assessment checklist below before you begin.

 Use your outline to help you.


 Make sure that both of you present the same amount of time.
 Give examples to help your classmate understand more the design of your building.
