XP
You'll get XP by making the right choices and passing Skill
Checks.
The number of XP received from some Choices is based on the WATCH • 02:06
level you're at. These will be indicated accordingly. For example, The Loop (Games)
if the walkthrough says +5/10/25 XP, you'll get 5 XP if you're at
Level 1, 10 XP if you're at Level 2, and 25 XP if you're at Level
3.
The levels are as follows:
Level 0: 1-5 (2 XP)

Level 1: 1-50 (5, 10 or 15 XP)
Level 2: 1-100 (10, 20 or 30 XP)
Level 3: 1-750 (25, 50 or 75 XP)
Level 4: 1-2500 (100, 200 or 300 XP)
Level 5: 1-7500 (250, 500, or 750 XP)
Level 6: 1-15000 (500, 1000, or 1500 XP)
After reaching the end of Level 6 you'll only get "MAX
Level!" but the game will still keep counting the XP as if
you were still on Level 6. For example, you can go from
14606/15000 to 106/15000 then to 606/15000.
Skills
You will have to choose Skills for your character. Skills will help
you conquer challenges, befriend allies, and unlock special
scenes.
Some choices will require you to have a Skill to choose them.

These unlock special scenes and often award XP. Only the skills
you choose will be among the available options. Unchosen skills
will be shaded, chained and unavailable. The option order of
these choices will vary based on the skills you have, unavailable
skills will appear at the bottom.
More Skills can be unlocked by earning XP, which you'll get by

making correct choices, defeating enemies, and passing Skill
checks. Earn enough XP to level up and learn new Skills.
There are five categories: Species-specific Skills, Combat Skills,

Diplomacy Skills, Survival Skills, Elite Skills. This walkthrough
uses the in-game icons for options that require certain Skills.
Species-specific Skills:
- This choice requires you to be an Elf.

- This choice requires you to be a Human.
- This choice requires you to be an Orc.
Combat Skills:
- This choice requires the Blades Skill.
- This choice requires the Bows Skill.
- This choice requires the Brawling Skill.
You get "Triple Threat" if you've unlocked all Combat Skills.
Diplomacy Skills:
- This choice requires the Charisma Skill.

- This choice requires the Deception Skill.
- This choice requires the Seduction Skill.
You get "Smooth Talker" if you've unlocked all Diplomacy Skills.
Survival Skills:
- This choice requires the Beastmaster Skill.

Elite Skills:

You get "A Hero Worthy of Legend" if you've unlocked all Skills.
At the end of the latest chapter, the walkthrough will indicate the
maximum possible XP that can be gained and the Skills needed
to achieve it. The Skills need to be acquired in the order they
appear. There might be several ways to reach the maximum.
Only the required Skills will be listed even if you can have more
Skills at that level. For example:
Elf: 601/750 (Level 3) or

means that if you play as an Elf you have two
ways to get 601 XP. First, you should pick Bows, followed
by Seduction and Medicine then Charisma and Woodslore
and you also need to buy the Light Elite Skill. Alternatively,
you can choose Beastmaster instead of Charisma as your
4th Skill. (As of Chapter 6, Elves could reach the maximum
possible XP in these two ways.)
Elf: 26/2500 (Level 4) means that
you need these 6 Skills and the 7th one is up to you. (As of
Chapter 7, at Level 4, as an Elf, you can have 6 free Skills
and Light, an Elite Skill.)
Elite Skills
Elite Skills are very powerful premium Skills that will help you
throughout your adventure. When you get offered one that is
your ONLY chance to unlock the Skill.
Injuries
You can get injured if you've chosen one incorrect option or a
sequence of incorrect options. Injuries will persist on your
character, and may make future challenges more difficult. They
might prevent you from getting XP too. You can treat injuries by
finding some items to heal them.
Side Quests
Side Quests will let you deepen your relationships with party
members, and collect gear and treasure to help on the
adventure, including treatment for injuries.
Social Quests
Social Quests let you get closer to your companions and learn
more about them.
Lore Tablets
Collect them to learn more about the world, its inhabitants, and
the history of the Great War. You'll get bonus XP for every tablet
you collect and if you get all six tablets, you'll unlock a Bonus
Scene.
Legendary Weapons
You can collect Legendary Weapons to enhance your fighting WATCH • 02:06
skills and gain some extra XP from them. They will also replace The Loop (Games)
your regular weapon, such as your gauntlet (Brawling Skill). You
can only use them if you've unlocked the corresponding Combat

It's a wonderful book, despite being impudently expensive

(nearly 1000 diamonds if you chose ALL diamond
options).
I have only three rants:
1. We cannot adopt voxper.

2. Unknown Loola's fate. The voxper, no matter what
we do, stays alive and safe. But if we don't adopt
Loola, what happens to her? Does she stay
imprisoned and dies from starvation? Or luckily she
escapes? But still stays in the dark world, since we
closed the portal... The authors should resolve it
differently, for example: we set her free without
payment, and then we get a choice: adopting her
(for diamonds), or part our ways (for free), but we
still are ensured that she's alive and safe (like the
voxper).
3. I performed all side quests (16). But at the end, the
game said that there were... 25! Okay, I bought also
social quests, as long as they were not intimate
(like strolling, talking, dancing, drinking etc.). But
still not enough (21/25)! Then I replayed the book
another time, then danced with all four partners, still
keeping things professional. And yet, still not
enough (23/25). It seems like I had to buy also both
scenes entailing sleeping together (in Deadwood
and in Whitetower). I'm ACE, for God's sake. For
me, forcing sex scenes to achieve "all side quests"
(25/25) is discriminating.
PS. What happens anyway, if you buy ALL social and side
scenes? Do you get more bonus scenes, aside the
Hoodie Auditor, warning MC about Ye Great Old Ones?

Damn that was roller coaster. I was romancing Nia so I

cried hard in the last chapter. Luckly we got our happy
ending and now I can't wait for second book!

And so, I did it. With my own play style, I managed to

become a hero of legends!
My steps:
1. First, I start off with blades and charisma (my
favourites!)
2. Next, I became a master of survival (woodslore,
beastmaster, medicine)
3. Then, I became a master of diplomacy (deception,
seduction)
4. Finally, I became a master of combat (bows, brawling)
With that, I managed to become a full-fledged hero while
playing as the human warrior I wanted to be.

I started with blades and charisma too, but it's clear

that the game prefer seduction and bows. So I went
with these next time. Then I chose respectively:
medicine (ultimately, lack of it is worse than lack of
woodslore, if you count the XP), beastmaster (the
scene with Threep was priceless), brawling (I didn't
want to humiliate myself before Imtura, when she
gave me her precious gauntlet). This way I was
losing only 25 XP comparing to the walkthrough,
while saving face. Also, when I was unable to find
the track on the Cursed Island, Threep found the
way, what was another precious scene. Having the
brawling skill spared me from tiresome timed choice
later. Later I got woodslore (for maximum XP) and

blades (to avoid another humiliation when the ghost
gave me super sword). Later I chose deception, The Loop (Games)
because it revealed to be only way for me - I was
uninterested with whiny princeling, so I didn't kiss

at the end. And, as very last, I chose charisma. Of
course I bought each exclusive perk (light, stealth,
fireball, Kaytar).
And, of course, I played as elf - it gave me bonuses,
but also some banters with elves in Undermount,
alive or dead. It's unjust? Of course. Primarily I
wanted to play as human, but those reused faces
discouraged me.

In ch 7 are the social quests inherently romantic? I know

you can choose to not kiss, but with Nia it already had a
romantic tone. I did do the romance options for her and no
one else, though. Is it dependent on whether you've

Okay so the final chapter was such a rollercoaster of

emotions, tears, and being absolutely overwhelmed by the
final romance scene. Normally, I play without sound
(honestly, the music is just so bad and annoying in most
books), but here it was so perfect. Especially in the last
chapter, it just worked so well and transitioned from scene
to scene perfectly and touched all the right heartstrings
(and was actually good music!). But then this book is
simply the best that I've read from PB. And I'm not just
saying this because it is my favourite genre. Just
everything about it felt so real, those characters were so
beautifully fleshed out and became so dear, and the whole
world was filled with so much detail and love. There is
hope for PB yet :D
Also, I haven't chased after Aerin, because honestly? Nia
was in immediate danger, and there was nothing as
important as that. I know it wouldn't have affected what
happens to her, but it just felt wrong in the moment. And
this is probably the only diamond scene I didn't take in this
book. Can't wait to see how this decision plays out in book
2!

Hm, for me, choice 8's side quest in the final chapter to
chase Aerin down costs only 20 diamonds instead of 25
like it says here. Does the MC's relationship with Aerin
previously have something to do with this? I'm wondering
if anyone else got this too

OK, luckily we won. But then again, we have to be elves

or kiss Aerin to escape unscathed? I knew the game is
rigged. Just as I thought, the devs wrote this with an elven
archer in mind. A female elven archer, that is.
Also, turns out charisma isn't needed at all.

You know, General Khor has a point though. Most
stories, myths, legends(I am saying most, not all)
depict men wielding swords and women using bows
and arrows. And even if seduction is not gender or
sex attributed as you say, and that it is also used by
men, men are more prone to be seduced than
seduce. Even if James Bond and male spies use
seduction, majority of stories and movies and real
life experiences show women seducing men. And
also, have you noticed the fact that most of the
people you get to use the Seduction skill on are
males? The only females you get use it on are Nia
and that lady in the black market(should you choose
to go there in Chapter 1) You cannot argue the fact
that PB meant females when they put in the
Seduction skilll let alone have Seduction as the right

Even if the skills should be often associated with one

gender... like I said, I got the max score easily by
choosing skills first that according to the list are
rather associated with men. There's no way I could
have passed on charisma and beastmaster as first
skills

And even though , let's say that General Khor's
theory is biased and incorrect, that PB made this
book while keeping the best interests of both the
genders in mind, you cannot argue the fact that PB
favours its female fans. If they didn't, why would half
of their books be gender locked ones where you can
only play as a female? And why would there be
more male LIs than female ones in the non gender
locked ones? And why would almost all of their book
covers feature female versions of the MC instead of
male ones? And if that wasn't enough, even if you
play as a guy, there are certain parts of story plots of
most books that seem fit only on a female MC. PB
favours girls and it is a well-known fact.
Thanks for backing me up, Zack. But then again, I

admit I'm a little biased. Maybe it's because I'm
unhappy with PB favouring girls. Btw, you can also
seduce Xenia.

I think you get it if you have less than a certain
amount of damages. I got a couple of damages and
got it too.

when I started playing this book, I was just "playing for

diamonds" and not even reading, y'know, so I'm a bit out
of context of what happened in the very beginning, but at
like... chapter 9-10 (i think?) I became interested and now
it's all over and i'm very sad :((

Oh WoW, it's over... MC and the gang won, but they've

awoken a bigger problem...
MC also absorbed the light from light blade and became a
conduit to the light,
And looks like MC will be getting power from Old Gods in
Book 2...
I don't know if I should be happy or sad that it's over...

Yea, me neither. That description is really worrying,

although I doubt it means us. This is King Xaius's
quote from Chapter 1, so maybe that's what it
means. That we will be the heroes to avenge them.

Personally, I feel like the writers of this book did not build
too much emotional attachment between MC (and me)
and Kade. So, honestly, I will not feel as bad as I should
be even if the writers decided to kill Kade off. He's just not
memorable for me...
