4. Using properties before (base sides 10 𝑐𝑚 and altitude 5 𝑐𝑚), prove the formula of
cube volume using the formula of pyramid volume!
Answer:
We know that:
• The base of square pyramid = the face of cube
• The base sides of square pyramid = the edges of cube

Because of that, we can conclude that the altitude is equal to a half of its base sides.

1
The altitude = 2 × the base sides

1
= 2 × the edges of cube

1
=2×𝑠

Then, the volume of six square pyramids is:

1
𝑉 = 6 × 3 × the area of base × the altitude

1 1
= 6 × 3 × ...... × ...... × 2 ×......

1
= 3 × 3 × 𝑠 × 𝑠 ×......

=𝑠×𝑠×𝑠

Thus, we can prove the formula of cube volume using the formula of pyramids
volume.
