A. Answer the questions below. Use the examples as models of the grammar and
vocabulary you have to use.

1. Why didn’t you study English before? (List at least 5 reasons in a

composition.)

Example:

One of the reasons why I didn’t study English before it is because I thought it
was too difficult. I didn’t understand my English teacher at school and that
was frustrating.
One of the reasons why I did not study English because I did not like English
very much. Another reason is that I did not attend classes long when my
teacher spoke.

The third reason is that I worked a lot and when I entered classes I arrived
tired and my performance was not the same.

Another reason would be that I sometimes studied but did it to pass an exam
and not for fun or to learn. Lastly, I think I did not have a goal in life, at that
time I was very young.

2. How different would things be if you had learned English before? (Name and
explain at least 5 things.)

Example:

If I had learned English some years ago I would have accepted a job a
multinational company offered me five years ago. One of the requirements
was to speak English and my level back then was very low.

Well if I had learned English, a few years ago I would have learned a lot. More
than I imagine.

Two if I had learned English, I would have had a better job. A better job equals
a better salary.

If I had learned English, I had traveled to Canada which is my favorite country,

because I love Canada, Canada is my favorite country, and it is my dream to
live there one day.

If I had learned English or studied, I had been able to see my favorite movies
in English, we love horror movies and well to be able to understand you is my
soil is English. If I had studied in English, today I could have a fluent
conversation with my instructor. Yes, you are a teacher, but this is for the best.

B. Record an audio file of yourself answering the following questions. Use the
examples as models of the grammar and vocabulary you have to use.
1. Why are you studying English? (List and explain at least 4 reasons.)

I am studying English, because I already like this language, it has become my

passion, I want to learn because I like it, I want to read, and listen to my
favorite movies and especially to go and live in Canada

Example:

I’m studying English because I finally decided that if I want to improve my

professional profile becoming bilingual is essential.

2. In what ways are you going to benefit from this learning?

This benefits me since I could aspire to a good job, and others I can go to
Canada to study and work.

Example:

Being competent in English is going to increase the opportunities of landing a more

satisfying and better-paid job. We live in an international open market and English
is the most important language.
