loss for words to describe him. But in rare,
private moments, he dispenses with titles,
casts off his armor and the layers of intrigue
that come with it, and show his authentic
self.

His name is Tartaglia, and he is devoted to

the thrill and the physical feel of battle.

Like a velvet sheath that houses an

ostensibly ornamental blade, his
unpredictability puts people on edge. ”
–Description from forum announcement[3]

One can trust him, but one ought not get too attached. He has unusual tastes when it comes to
“ combat — the encounters he craves the most being those that bring him closest to his own

demise.

–The cautious counsel of fellow Harbinger, Pulcinella [3]

Tartaglia describes himself as "kind of a bad guy," but not the type who wants to cause the Traveler any
trouble. At a surface level, Tartaglia is good-natured and cheerful, and somewhat dispirited by the Fatui's
bad reputation. He cares deeply for his family and tries to be the perfect older to his three beloved
younger siblings. Despite this, Tartaglia is a ruthless killer who lives to battle stronger opponents and get
stronger.

Tartaglia manipulates the Traveler and Paimon; pretending to befriend them while having Ekaterina
eavesdrop on their conversations so he can figure out where the Qixing have taken the Exuvia.

Tartaglia loves fighting, and will even put his goals temporarily on hold to participate in an intense battle.
He often stops thinking clearly if engrossed in a battle, and can jump to irrational conclusions during
fights. He prefers an all-out battle as opposed to a calculated plan. These qualities can make Tartaglia a
powerful but easy pawn for more calculating characters, such as Zhongli and La Signora, to use.

Tartaglia is rather self-confident, solipsistic, and brash. He states that he uses bows because it's the
weapon he's weakest in, which makes it all the more exhilarating when he defeats powerful opponents
with it.[1] He doesn't think much about throwing his money around, even jokingly offering to let the Traveler
rob the Northland Bank if it'll get him in their good graces.

Appearance
Tartaglia has short, choppy orange hair and blue eyes. He wears a red Fatui mask pulled off to one side of
his head. He also wears a beaded earring with a red crystal on his left ear.

Tartaglia wears a grey jacket with dark red and light grey details, grey pants, and black boots. His jacket is
open on one side to reveal a belt with his hydro vision attached. He also wears a ragged red scarf.

Why did they have to release Tartagila and Zhongli seperately...

Well I mean I know, what with the whole limited time buyer's mentality but like geez...

Hunlin · 48m

Maybe mihoyo wants to allow players to have higher chance to get specific 5* promo
character instead of RNG between two rateup-ed 5* characters. at most of time in other
games, players always complain of gacha banner having two super rare or 5* character rate
up. people prefer single 5* character get rate up instead.

I got him in 21 pulls, along with 2 Ningguangs and 1 Noelle. I was originally going to stop after 20,
but I decided to do a single pull and Childe came home. He's a difficult character to play with at
first, but pretty soon I got the hang of it. My playstyle suits him(not tanking blows, being as much of
a speed demon as possible in melee mode), so overall I would say he's a good character. There are
some rough patches however, my main gripe being that there are no +Hydro Damage artifact
sets(as of yet)

Got him in my first 10x wish. He's a good character, but the pain right now as a F2P player is the
Mora and XP outage and the lack of Resin to farm XP materials from ley lines.

Get him or save for zhongli?

Gussygoose · 15h

it's a water equivalent of diluc.

while zhongli is still unclear if you play for "gameplay" (he could cast down meteors, but all the
numbers still a mystery, and also using a claymore is more preferable than polearm against
geo enemies), own team composition should also be regarded.

the easy way would be whichever husbando that you like better.

RegiusCiel · 9h

Zhongli is theorized to be support based on leaks, but honestly just roll for the husbando you
want.

Do the damages dealt by his normal and charged attacks during melee stance benefit from

What is his source of energy? usually the elemental Skill gives quite a bit of energy, but Childe's E is
a stance switch, so yeah what is his source of energy? and how fast does he gain energy compared
to others.

Slavique · 2d

He gets energy every time he pops the riptide it seems, so every ~1.5s in melee he gets a
small blue energy particle. Bow charged attacks riptide pops also restore energy, but at a
slowish pace (and you don't really want to be a bowslinger anyways). Melee attacks
themselves are not considered elemental skill damage, but riptides are indeed elemental skill
damage and scale with items improving that kind of thing.

His energy fills up quite fast considering the cost of his ult (60, and it is even cheaper when
you're casting a bow version due to 20 energy refund). Can probably work with Xingqiu sorta
ok purely because Childe gives him energy, even if they don't combo well in terms of
reactions. Xingqiu's ult has great scaling. Mona probably pairs well with his ult and energy
regen, but I do not have her.

Overall c0 Tartaglia is very fun to tinker with but he's not the best choice for most comps due
to lots of limitations that come with him (cooldown on his E mostly, also hydro DPS artifact set
does not exist right now). You can't really drop him in into any comp and be optimal and
effective. You have to build around him and even then it may not be the best performance. He
needs a second autoattacker DPS on his team to cover the ~35 seconds of his E cooldown,
ideally with longer impactful cooldowns that do not require a constant presence on the field. I
really like Klee for that, because you can drop her bombs and their cd will roll while you're
hitting stuff with Childe. Otherwise you'd feel like you have a wasted slot in your party. Maybe
Xiangling/Bennet or even Sucrose (doubt) are fine to fill the gap/provide support. Fischl has
great cooldowns well suited for him but sucks at autoattacks (no AoE). Also setting up
Venerer's 10 seconds of -hydro res debuff windows feels sorta iffy but bolsters his ult really
well.

(Edited by Slavique)

RegiusCiel · 2d

You also get a mark when his melee is about to expire, swap out from there and you will only
get 30s cooldown at most. There are ways to work around his E CD and it's not that bad.

(Edited by RegiusCiel)

Thewobbinator · 12h

I have him with Beidou with energy recharge and Fischl as a 2nd dps support. Beidou ult with
his Melee stance is like looking at a boss. XD

Seeing as he´s still technically a bow user, I´m curious if there´s any bow/catalyst only artifacts that
he can abuse, seeing as those are balanced around catalyst/bows´ attack speed/strength and
Childe can spam elemental attacks at sword/pike speeds
