About College:
Very Important Note:
Students need to accept offer letter by login Durham online portal. It is mandatory to accept offer letter before
making payment, and payment must be done before the deadline mentioned in the offer letter. Once student
receive offer letter they should first accept their offer letter by login to online portal and later they can pay fees any
time before the deadline mentioned in offer letter. Failure to fulfil one of these condition may lose their seat in the
program.

Durham College Application Process:


 Online application process. Student received offer letter in his Durham portal.
 HSC or 10 + 3 Diploma holders are eligible to apply for post-secondary / degree programs and application in
PG / fast-track program require bachelors / master degree with higher second class.
 Applicants with minimum 55 % and above can apply to any suitable program with max. 8 backlogs for 4 Year
Degree & Max. 4 backlogs for 3 Year.
 Notarized documents are required with signed application form to lodge application.
 Must indicate that if student will apply under SPP or not.
 LOA can be received in 4 to 6 Working days if complete application has been sent.
 Tuition fees must be paid before deadline mention in College offer letter. As per new SPP rules applicant has
to pay first semester tuition fees.

SPP ADMISSION CRITERIA / GUIDELINES FOR HIGHER CHANCE OF VISA: (Recommended by CIC / Colleges)
 Fresher with good academics (Close to 60 % and above) will have good chance to get admit + Visa
 Gap in studies cannot be more than 1 years for UG and not more than 4 years for Graduates (do not submit
fake experience certificate)
 Backlogs in core subjects and number of backlogs in same subject are being viewed with attention.
Maximum number of 8 backlogs will be accepted. (For 12 + 4 max. 8 backlogs & for 12+3 max. 4 backlogs
accepted)
 Minimum 55 % and above (higher second class) is must, However priority will be given to 60 % and above
marks students
 In case of more than 8 backlogs - there should be 60 % in last 2 semester and no backlogs
 Core subject grads should be minimum 60 % and above including Math & English

For Business : Applicants with Grade 10 math at 55% or higher for India will be admitted to General Arts and Science
Business to get Math and then be allowed directly into Business in semester 2. Students with 50% or higher in
Grade 12 math will be admitted directly into the business program
For Chemical Laboratory Technician:
If applicants have only Grade 10 math (must be minimum 55%) we will accept the Grade 10 math PLUS they must
have grade 12 Chemistry (minimum 55%). Otherwise, an applicant can have grade 12 or higher Math (minimum
55%) OR grade 12 Chemistry (55%)

Note: Students can login to their Durham Portal for fees payment process. Please find attached step by
step process of the same.
DURHAM COLLEGE HAS STOP ACCEPTING TUITION PAYMENTS THROUGH WIRE TRANSFER. NOW THEY ARE
ACCEPTING TUITION FEES THROUGH ABOVE MENTIONED METHODS.
STUDENT MUST GENERATE THE PAYMENT INFORMATION THROUGH THEIR DURHAM ONLINE PORTAL. FOR STEP BY
STEP PROCESS OF FLY WIRE AND WESTERN UNION PAYMENT PLEASE REFER ATTACHED DOCUMENTS.

Refund / Withdrawal Policy


WITHDRAWALS AND REFUNDS

WITHDRAWAL (Approximately $2200 TO $2300 not refundable)

Students must meet the withdrawal policy requirements plus complete and sign an official withdrawal form and
submit other documents as requested to be eligible for any refund. Be advised that any refunds that are authorized
will be less the application fee, tuition and ancillary fee as per MTCU Policy, and other fees as outlined in our
withdrawal and refund policy. Study Permits are issued based on letters of admission to Durham College, so
International Students are expected to attend this college. There will be no refunds for withdrawal requests
received after the 10th official day of the semester. Failure to attend does not constitute a withdrawal.

Students must submit the refusal letter from the Embassy and submit other documents as requested no later than
the 10th official day of the semester no refund will be issued. The refund amount is outlined in our withdrawal and
refund policy.

Please note:

 All students must complete and submit an official Withdrawal Form to cancel fees owing or to be eligible for
a refund.
 Failure to register for your courses or not attend classes does not constitute an official withdrawal.
 Students who have not officially withdrawn from the college will be required to pay fees for that semester
and will be recorded as having failed the program.

REFUNDS

Students who officially withdraw from their program within the first 10 days of classes will receive a full refund of all
fees paid, less an administrative fee of $500.

No refund, in whole or in part, will be processed for students who withdraw after the tenth day of the semester. If a
student has opted to pay fees by instalment (i.e. payment plan B), they are still responsible for the balance of fees
owing for that semester. Tuition fees that have been paid for future semesters will be refunded.

REFUND APPEALS

In extenuating circumstances such as an unexpected medical problem or a death in the family, the student may
appeal a refund decision. These requests must be submitted in writing, along with appropriate supporting
documentation to the Office of the Registrar.

Please note: Refund appeals will only be considered if received within the same academic year. College will respond
within 3 working days whether it is complete or if corrections are required. Once completed – refunds shall be
processed within 8-12 weeks post that.

DEFERRAL OF LOA

*No deferrals will be made for students who have already landed in Canada. Please note that students will only be
allowed one deferral. All other requests will be denied and students will be instructed to reapply for admission to
Durham College.

**SPP India students – if original visa request is rejected by the Embassy, Durham College is not permitted to offer a
deferral under the policy of the SPP program.
Note:
In case of Visa refusal and/or withdrawal, a student must have to bear the difference amount while getting
refund money from college due to dollar rate fluctuation. It will be less approximately Rs. 50,000 to 60,000/-.

International Student Services


INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SERVICES
In order to make your arrival in Canada a smooth one, Durham College offers several services to help you have a
soft landing. Please review the information below and complete the Arrival Services guidelines.
1. Airport Pickup Service – Students can receive FREE transportation from the Toronto Pearson Airport to
Oshawa. Please indicate on the Arrival Services Form that you would like to be picked up at the airport and driven to
Oshawa. Student will receive the information for the Airport pickup services in their email directly from the college
once they submit their Visa Status.
If you have booked an airport pick up and have missed a connecting flight or are lost, you can contact Classique

2. Accommodation Assistance –
 Students who require temporary accommodation can contact La Quinta Inn & Suites, located on 63 King

3. International Student Orientation – To make sure that you have all the necessary information to start classes
on the right foot, be sure to attend the international student orientation in India.
