SORIANO, Angelica Joan M.

Along the busy road of Urbiztondo there this Barangay Poblacion where you can hear
vendors advertising their products, mothers carrying bags of groceries, public drivers calling out
for customers, people who share different stories about their family, children on the street keep
on running and you can hear shouts coming from the grown-up people trying to stop them
from the dangerous roads, and I'm glad to say, welcome to my community. My community
simply depicts a typical rural community that have a small land area with a well-knit, and high
degree level of group of feeling

In my 20 years of existence, I already saw how my community survived and made a

living. Whenever I ask people how do they see my community, they say that it is full crimes.
But the truth is, just like a normal Filipino community, the people here are helpful. Farming and
poultry are the main source of income.

When in terms of health, barangay officials together with the LGUs have well-
implemented different programs that’s why occurrence of communicable diseases are contained
and can’t occur easily, and when it happens, immediate response by the health team are there
in order to protect others. As of now, the goal of our community is to achieve sufficient
economy in order to obtain the basic needs of the people and to prevent diseases.

On the other side of this collage is another type of community which is called the urban
or city, and here you can see that it is usually occupied by a large socially heterogenous
population. Buildings are close by one another meaning that this type of community its type of
occupation is nonagricultural. Urban areas are very developed, residents take buses or taxis to
go to their works, apartments are the popular place to live, and night life is busy because of the
presence of movie theaters, malls, bars, restaurants, etc.
