INTRODUCTION
" If you were asked to rate your relationship with God, how would you rate it?
Would it be a 10 or a 1? Is is better today than a year ago or the other way around? If
God really is who He says He is and if He loves us like He says He does, then don’t you
think it is worth taking some time to know Him better? I know in my life when my
relationship with God is good, my life is better - most of the time, a whole lot better. I
make better decisions, have less anxiety, and generally have more joy in my life. So if
your relationship with God is not where you want it to be, this “30 Day Experiment” is
for you.
" What does this experiment look like? The idea is to take 30 days and focus on
your own personal growth with God. It is a time of ‘dating God’ and no one else. It is
giving God a chance to guide you into a better way to live your single life. It is seeing if
the Bible might have something to say to you that will make a difference in your life.
Let’s look at it this way. Say you meet a new person and you are a little bit interested in
them. Maybe they ask you out on a date or you ask them. Let’s say the date is really
good. What is your next step? When I met Nancy (my wife) and we started dating, I
wanted to spend every moment with her that I could. When we were not together, I
wanted to call her. I asked her friends questions to find out more about her. I wanted to
know what she liked and what she did not like. I wanted to know what to do to make
her happy. Bottom line - I totally immersed myself in getting to know all I could about
her.
So how does that have anything to do with this experiment? It means the same
thing. Spend time with God; talk with Him; read about Him; ask others who know Him
well about Him. Totally immerse yourself in Him and only Him. For thirty days be
exclusive.
What would it mean for you set aside these 30 days to get to know God better?
What would that look like for you? What would God do? Are you willing to take the
challenge? If you do, I promise you that God will show up because you are putting the
focus of your life where He wants it - totally and completely on Him.

THE EXPERIMENT
For the next thirty days you ‘date’ only God. This is the relationship that you focus on.
This is Who you spend time with. Each day read the message for that day. Answer the
questions, Take time to journal your thoughts. Spend time in prayer. You can add
anything else that is meaningful to you.
God will be there. He is so excited to spend time with you. The rest is up to you.

I used to think the Bible was this great book from the past. It was written so long ago. I
was not sure how relevant it was for today. Then as I read it more and more I learned
that it applied to my life in an incredible way. Today’s passage says it penetrates deep
within us and judges our thoughts and the things hidden deep within our hearts.

Jeremiah shows us an incredible passion for God’s word. They are his joy and his
heart’s delight. Why? I think he gives us the answer when he says that he bears God’s
name. As a Christian, each of us also bear the name of God.

thing to do. Some feel it is selfish. Some feel they are not worthy. Yet Jesus clearly
asks to do that.

Jesus never wavered in unbelief. Even when He was faced with the cross He followed
the Father’s will. I waver. Not everyday but sometimes. I think it is when I take my
focus off of God. I temporarily forget who He is and that He truly has the power to do

Sometimes I run. I run from fears and anxieties. I run from reality. Often I run aimlessly
when God is who I need to run to.

My Thoughts:
I think that over the years of my life selfishness if my number one issue. I want my way
and that can take precedence over everything else. I also know that my selfishness
does not work. It does not work in relationships that are important to me and it certainly
does not work in my relationship with God.
