STS REFLECTION # 3

On our class today we recalled about the given activities on last week’s asynchronous class. We
delved deeper unto the lesson to understand more from the answers that we put in our activities. On
our first activity we stated the prominent traits of the early scientists that made them successful. We
also talked about the science processes that they utilized to come up with their discoveries. All of us
participated on questions about all the activities and it was fun because we got to hear other people’s
pick on their favorite discoveries each century.

We also learned about the evolution of science through the years and why it is important that
we appreciate them more because without them our lives wouldn’t be as convenient as it is right now.
We also tackled the science rationalism and what I understand about it is science shouldn’t be based on
religion and beliefs, it should be backed up with facts so that it isn’t biased. The inductive-deductive way
was also discussed and its importance in research. We were also asked what are the studies that we
appreciated the most every century and the diversity in our answers made ma’am very happy.

Overall, I learned a lot because of the interactions that happened between my classmates and it
was more effective for me to learn this way because I have a really short attention span and I’m easily
distracted by my phone but if all of us are talking I’m more focused on the lesson.
