I have joined Infinity Marketing Ltd. as an intern on 16 th of August, 2020 as a member of the
Digital Marketing team of the marketing department. Being a digital marketing enthusiast,
this has vastly intrigued me and gave me a scope to enhance my knowledge and experience
in the diverse work field of a corporate office.
On my first day of joining I was taken to the 8th floor of the head office of Infinity group at
Jabbar tower. I then attended a small orientation program where I was introduced to the
different organizational rules and norms of the company by the CEO and General Manager
(Marketing). After which I was taken to the 6th floor which is the HR department. There, I
completed all the paperwork, after which I was taken to the team in which I will be
spending the next 6 months with.
The Digital Marketing Team
The Digital Marketing team consisted of 6 people including me. Leading the team was Mr.
Fashiuddin Mahtab, who was the GM (Marketing) of the company. The others were
Tahmida Arfin (Sr. Digital Marketing Specialist), Eity Sarkar (Sr. Content Writer), Mahfuz
Arafat (Graphics Designer), Tazwar Hossain (Trainee Officer) and Nakita Barai (Jr. Content
Writer). The primary job of this team was to promote the different products of the
company online and also to maintain the queries and purchase orders online.
My First Month
The first week of my journey at Infinity was somewhat mundane. As I am a very
introverted person, I did not talk to anyone except necessity. Though my colleagues were
very friendly, it was somewhat out of my comfort zone and it took me some time to warm
up to them. I found out on the second week that my team lead was also from Chittagong
while I was listening to a funny Chittagonian content. We had a cup of tea and had a few
laughs and he taught me the untold norms of the company. Slowly, I became more
accustomed to my team members and started talking to them casually. Every morning,
from 9 AM to 9:30 AM, we have an assembly sort of meeting at our office, and I was asked
to speak in front of all the employees multiple times. That too, was out of my comfort zone,
because though I can speak fluently, I do not enjoy speaking in front of mass public.
By the fourth week, I became quite friendly with my colleagues. By this time, I was working
as a graphics designer, because the CEO of the company saw some of my designs and really
liked them. So, I was given charge to work on the daily online content and develop the logos
of the sister concerns of the Company. I was notified that the projects have been sitting for
6 months because the CEO did not like any of the logos that were being developed by the
graphics design team.
The Past Two Months
I conducted some surveys on the favorite colors and patterns of the CEO and Managing
Director of the company (since they oversee everything) and started working on the first
project, which was veteran securities ltd. First, I proposed 3 different color schemes, all of
which were mixtures and gradients of their favorite color. Upon selection of the color
scheme, I then started working on the logo itself. My second month had already started in

the company by this time, and I was really enjoying my work. Since the other designers
were repeatedly making an icon-based logo, I decided to go at it from a different angle.
I decided to build a letter-based logo for the company. This is where I met my first
criticism. The designers directly told me that my idea is going to get rejected. I agreed with
them, and did the logo anyway, because I had nothing to lose except a day of work. Since it
was a security company, I planned to make the letter V into a design that would feel strong
and powerful. Browsing the internet, I found some samples but none of them were to my
liking. That night, I was streaming Flash on Netflix (My favorite Superhero), when suddenly
the idea came to me. And the next day, I created the following logo

I showed the logo to the CEO and it got selected right then and there. The sense of relief I
felt is difficult to describe in words. I thanked Sirajul sir and went back to my bullpen. After
that I developed all the required stationaries for the company and continued to work on the
other daily tasks I had. Notably, the “Veteran” board also really liked the visiting card that I
made for them.

On September 20, the CEO of Infinity group had a meeting with the digital marketing team
where I was chosen to lead the graphics design team. On the end of the week, I had a letter
on my desk stating that my Internship had come to an abrupt end.
My heart sank and I did not know what to do. I ran downstairs to talk to HR, but she was
unavailable. I was asked to wait. Ma’am showed up after about 30 minutes and quietly
handed me another letter before leaving again. I was sure I was sacked and knew I had
nothing to do because I was still under probation. I opened the letter very sadly, which is
when I saw the words “Letter of Promotion”. I quietly went back to my chair and started
working, because I knew that even if I were to let out 1% of the emotion I had, my screams
would tear the entire building down. Since then I have developed brand elements for 6
other sister concerns of Infinity group. Along with that I have started learning website
designing to develop the websites of the companies as well.
