● Attend office hours to seek help on assignments, prepare for tests, or to ask questions that
you may not have asked in class.
● Note: This year's elearning looks different than last year. Attendance will be taken and
grades will go in as normal. Meaning missing assignments will hurt your grade.

Asynchronous assignments will be given on Mondays and Thursdays at the start of the school day
(unless otherwise stated). These are to be completed outside of class. Mondays assignments will be due
at 11:59 PM on Wednesday and Thursdays assignments will be due at 11:59 PM Monday (unless
otherwise stated)

Interventions for Misbehavior

There are consequences for not following the rules. They will be assigned based upon the
situation, severity of the violation and history of misbehavior. Possible consequences include
a warning, seat change, removal from class, and a call home and a referral to the Dean’s
Office.

Absences and Make-up Work

Excused absences- you have the total number of days you were absent to make up missed
work. It is your responsibility to ask for and complete all make-up assignments. If you have a
planned absence, please have the courtesy of telling me in advance that you will be gone.

Unexcused absences- you will not be able to make up any assignments, tests or in-class work
completed on days for absences listed as unexcused in the attendance system.

Field Trips – these are considered pre-excused absences and thus homework is due before you
leave for the field trip

Late Work
Asynchronous assignments will be assigned on Mondays and Thursdays most weeks. These will be due
two school days later. So Monday assignments will be due Wednesdays at 11:59 pm and Thursday
assignments will be due Mondays at 11:59 pm, unless otherwise stated. Note: there may be activities
assigned during synchronous lessons- most will be completed during that time, but some will need a
little more time. Pay attention to those due dates. Any assignment turned in after the Google
Classroom due date and time will be considered late. Late work will be accepted up to ONE day late
with a 30% reduction off the grade earned and up to when the UNIT TEST OPENS with a 50%
reduction off the grade earned. Assignments turned in after this point will receive a score of zero.

Tests/Quizzes
Tests and quizzes will be given throughout the course of the year to see what you have learned
and what we may need to cover again. Tests will be announced at least one week in advance.
Quizzes may or may not be announced.

Absences the week of a test:

● If you are absent one or two days the week of the test OR you are absent the day
before the test, be prepared to take it on the scheduled date.
● If you are absent the day of the test, be prepared to take it immediately upon your
return.
● In the case of extended illnesses, come and see me and we will arrange a time for you
to make up the test.

Make-up tests and quizzes will be taken on the prescribed day unless other arrangements have
been made with me. You are responsible for any material that you miss the day of a make-up.

There is a possibility in working with technology that an issue may occur.. It is YOUR
responsibility to notify me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE that you are having tech issues during
your tes, so we may work on a solution. It would be in your best interest to send a screenshot
if an error message is occuring, so that I can best help you.

Cheating/Plagiarism
Plagiarism is defined as “stealing and passing off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own;
use (of another's production) without crediting the source.” (Merriam-Webster online). This
includes copying and pasting assignments from the internet and copying someone else’s
homework assignments. Lastly, assisting a fellow student to cheat or plagiarize is also
considered academic misconduct. A student who cheats or plagiarizes, or who assists another
student to cheat or plagiarize, on any assignment will receive an automatic zero on that
assignment and a referral to the Dean’s Office for possible additional penalties.

Acceptable Use of Technology

Any use or display of an electronic device without teacher permission may result in a referral
to the Dean.

Students are expected to know and follow the district’s Acceptable Use policy as they use any
computer in class. Violation of this policy can, among other consequences, result in loss of
computer privileges in class and at school. You are also responsible for remembering your
username and passwords.

If your cell phone or any other electronic device is used or activated during a test or quiz, you
will receive a zero on the test/quiz and receive a referral to the Dean’s Office.

Helpful Hints: As stated above, all grades will be posted to skyward, so monitor frequently. All assignments will
be posted to Google Classroom. In addition, I will put up a weekly agenda and important due

being done in class, as well. The class website can be found at muellerdhs.weebly.com

Other Important If you want to discuss a grade, please see me, I will happily discuss it with you or rectify any
Info mistake, BUT please do so at an appropriate time (i.e. not in the middle of a lesson) and do so
respectfully.

As we are working remotely, there will be assignments that you will complete while we are
together, but also assignments to be completed on days that I do not meet with your class. I will
do my best not to overwhelm you, however please keep on top of your work and seek help when
needed. This will all make an appearance on your tests. If you expect to be successful in this class,
you must complete the work.
