ABSTRACT

People tend to eat more sweets and delicacies nowadays, so many ways of

preserving these kinds of food have been discovered and used throughout the recent

years. The researchers’ goal is to make a macaroon that will last long enough without the

help of a refrigerator and a cooler using sweet potato as the main ingredient.

After successfully making the sweet potato-based macaroon, the researchers kept

it in a container to keep it from any dirt or impurities that it may come in contact through

the air. Day by day, the macaroon was tasted by the willing participants to gather data.

And after 5 days, the sweet potato-based macaroon finally spoiled, with this information,

we were able to identify the shelf life of the product. With this, we have concluded that

this is an effective way of lengthening the shelf life of a macaroon without using

refrigeration or cooling.
