Data Engineer/Engineering Business Analyst

Reports to:
Sector Director- Projects & Engineering
 
Job Overview:
The incumbent's main responsibility will be supporting the Projects &
Engineering department in gathering and representing data to the
management team and sector director. Additionally, the role would be
responsible for streamlining, improving, and automating existing reporting
mechanisms in a timely manner and provide technical and administrative
support to the department. Duties include but are not limited to:
 
 Collect data and report on department's financial and project
performance indicators weekly
 Improve data collection methods and include standardized data
gathering techniques
 Continuous monitoring of data to highlight variances to
management
 Managing customer survey data collection and reporting
 To provide central support functions related to cost and schedule
 To maintain a list of approved sub-contractors and ensure sub-
contracts are in place for project/service delivery
 To ensure the department's project and service documentation is
delivered and reported on time
 Implement continuous improvement techniques which will develop
reporting systems for department to allow real time access
 Review IT programs and recommend improvements for data
integration into centralized repository
 To monitor and ensure appropriate training of staff as required
 Collaborate with other departments to form solutions for processes
and data management systems
 
Qualifications & Requirements:
 
 Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering or Data Science
 At least three (3) years' experience in similar roles/projects
 PMP Certification would be an asset
 Strong working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics
365, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite
 Experience
 Skillful in the use of project management frameworks and reporting
cycles
 Knowledge and application of Process Improvement practices and
procedures to facilitate informative decision making
 Strong ability to work in an adaptive, changing environment in an
agile manner to deliver insightful analytics within deadlines
 Ability to build strong professional relationships
 Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with
exemplary attention to details
