Birds in Oil Palm Estates

J.Ch. Jacquemard

April 2005 – March 2006

The described birds have been observed regularly on the Aek Loba Estate in different
environments: immature and mature plantations, tracks, marshes, pond, ditches, nursery and
garden.

The identification has been realised following “Birds of Southeast Asia” by Ben King, Martin
Woodcock and E.C. Dickinson (Periplus Nature Guides, Periplus Ed., 1998). The
corresponding references are indicated.

The comments on usual range and the habitat come from this source as the selected
illustrations (Martin Woodcock©)

To date, 38 different species of birds have been identified
