ASSISTANT PROFESSOR GRADE-II (LEVEL-10 and LEVEL-11)

Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Pune, an institute of national importance,


established by an Act of Parliament, under Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of
India under Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) mode invites applications from meritorious and
well qualified candidates for the faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor Grade-II
(on contract in pay level-10 and level-11) in the Department of Electronics and
Communication Engineering.

(B) Eligible Degree for Consideration:


The essential minimum academic qualification for the posts of Assistant Professor
must be Ph.D. in respective discipline and shall have First Class (at least 6.5 CGPA
on a scale of 10 or equivalent or 60% aggregate) in preceding degree. Candidates

having Ph.D. degree directly after B.Tech are also eligible and they should have
obtained First Class at Bachelor’s level.

(D) Instructions for Applicants:


1. The applicants are requested to go through all the instructions carefully and ensure that
they fulfill all eligibility conditions. Their admission to all stages of the recruitment will
be purely provisional and the final selection is subject to fulfilling the eligibility
conditions. Hiding of information and providing false information will lead to
cancellation of the candidature at any stage of recruitment.
2. All qualifications obtained by the candidates should be from any recognized University
/ Institution.
3. Full and comprehensive details of teaching experience / research experience / industrial
experience should be given while applying with the evidences from the competent
authority. Only relevant documents issued by competent authority should be uploaded
while filling up the form.

4. The date of determining eligibility of candidates in every respects i.e. qualifications,
experience and age limit etc. shall be considered as on the last date of the submission of
the application form.
5. Persons serving in Govt. / Semi Govt. / PSUs / Universities / Educational Institutions
should send their applications either through proper channel or should furnish a “No
Objection Certificate (NOC)” from the Competent Authority of the organization
serving, at the time of interview otherwise they may not be allowed for interview.
However, they can submit the “Advance Copy” of the application form.
6. The reservation and age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC-NCL / PwD / EWS / WOMEN
and other categories are applicable as per Government of India norms. Candidate
claiming reservation benefits should attach (as per Government of India format)
certificates in support of their claim (formats are attached with application form).
7. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/ EWS certificate issued on or after 1st April, 2020 shall
only be considered for reservation.
8. The persons with disability (PwD) shall be required to submit the Disability / Medical
Certificate in the prescribed form issued by the competent medical authorities for the
purpose of employment as per Government of India norms at the time of presentation /
interview. Persons suffering from not less than 40% of the disability shall only be
eligible for the benefit of reservation under this category.
9. The candidate is responsible for the correctness and authenticity of the information
provided in the application. If it is found at a later date that any information given in the
application is incorrect / false, the candidature / appointment is liable to be cancelled /
terminated. Grammatical errors / Spelling mistakes, if any, may be avoided.
10. Applicants should not have been convicted by any court of case.
11. Application form (a) incomplete in any respect or (b) any fresh enclosures received
after the last date shall not be considered.
12. In case of large number of applications, the Institute reserves the right to do the
screening and call only the candidates for written test/ interview, who are found prima-
facie suitable for being considered by the Committee on the basis of areas of
specialization taking into account the specific requirements of the department,
qualifications, experience, publication in high indexed SCI journals and other academic
achievements. The candidates, having degree or experience from IIT / NIT / IIIT /
Institution of National Importance / Central Funded Technical Institutions, will be
preferred. The short listing norms may not be uniform across the posts of the
department. The decision of the Institute related to all matters pertaining to the
recruitment shall be final and binding on the candidates.
13. The prescribed qualification and experience are minimum and the mere possession of
the same will not be entitled candidate to be called for written test / interview etc.
14. The Institute may consider candidates whose area of specialization is other than those
stated herein, provided these persons have an outstanding record.
15. The Institute reserves the right to assign / transfer the selected candidates to any section
/ department within the Institute and appointments will be offered accordingly.
16. Canvasing in any form will lead to disqualification.
17. The Institute reserves the right to rectify any discrepancy in the pay, Pay Level, etc., if
found later on.
18. If a candidate is not found suitable for the post applied may be considered for the lower
post. (i.e. Assistant Professor on contract at Grade-II Level-10).

19. Shortlisted candidates for written / interview etc. and finally selected candidate only
will be informed individually via email and on the correspondence address provided by
them in their application.
20. No correspondence will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delays,
conduct and result of interviews and reasons for not being called for interview.
21. All original relevant certificates with one self-attested photocopy are required to be
produced at the time of presentation / interview, if shortlisted.
22. Candidates shall indicate three references of eminent persons in the field / profession
who may be contacted by the Institute for their recommendations.
23. No TA / DA for appearing in the Interview/ selection process will be paid by institute.
24. The Institute reserves the right to cancel the advertisement in whole or in part without
assigning any reason and its decision in this regard shall be final.
25. Decision of the Selection Committee and the Board of Governors of IIIT Pune with
respect to the selection process is final.
26. Any dispute with regard to the selection / recruitment process will be subject to Courts /
Tribunals having jurisdiction over Pune.
27. The candidates are advised / required to visit the Institute website www.iiitp.ac.in from
time to time for information, updates etc. Updations, if any will be published on the
website only and not in newspaper.

iii. The eligible and interested candidates are required to submit the hardcopy of

Note: Advertisement No IIITP/R/F/2019/685 dated: 20/08/2019 (for the post of Assistant
Professor Grade-II Level-10 in Electronics and Communication Engineering)
stands cancelled. Candidate who have applied against these advertisements need to
