ANGEL INTERCEPTOR

Single-seated sti¡ke ¡¡rcraft with a top speed of 3,000 m.p.h. Developed from the World Army Air Force "Viper" iet by the
makcrs, lnternational Engineering. The final blueprint vastly different from the original Viper, being specially adapted for Cloud-
base requirements. Precision engineered, the plane is incredibly compact, carrying extra electronic i¡struments and mammoth
fuel tanks eslential.for Spectrum operations, Weighing only 40,100 lbs, each aircraft costs {1,250,000 and takes 9 months to
build. Clamped in a "V" formation on Cloudbase runway, and automatically released on take-off order, the Angel aircraft are
rcady for immediate launching.
The Nose Probe houses the hyper-sensitive instrument panel; i.e. air temperature, wind speedsr tust detectors, radar and radio
tcrials, ctc. The two small stabilisers on each side are designed to give steadiness at high speeds, preyenting nose dip when full
throttle is applied suddenly.
Tñt Tail Assembly is an unusual design. Twin turbo-let compressors (one each side of fuselage) serve the rear-mounted ram jet.
'Blcd air serve¡ the pitch-iets which give control at high (supersonic) speeds in rarefied air and are also used foi Cloudbase
lending.manoeuvres. For normal landing or reducing aii speed quickly, bled air is used as braking jets, whilst in case of emer-
¡bncy e small but powerful retro rockei can be brought into play, The lower double slit supplies booster reheat warm air.
Thc Arinament consists of a main cannon which fires a variety of ammo-tracer, armour-piercing. rocket shells, ett. There are
llso two batteric¡ of ai r-to-ai r/ai r-to-grou nd miss iles,
