It is with great enthusiasm that I am writing to express my interest for your current posting for a high school mathematics
teacher for the 2021-2022 school year at ____________. I am currently a student at Dakota State University, where I will
earn my bachelor’s degree in May 2021 with a major in mathematics education and with a minor in K-12 educational
technology and an endorsement in varsity/head coaching.

As indicated in my resume, I student taught at T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre, SD. Throughout this experience, I have been
professionally challenged to learn and grow in many ways through my student teaching experience like planning, preparing
and teaching all lesson materials, interpreting student work, assessing student learning, practicing classroom management
and working with a variety of students who learn in diverse ways and at different rates. I have also worked as a counselor at
Joy Ranch in Florence, SD. Throughout that experience, I worked with people of all ages and abilities so I have developed the
patience, flexibility, and perseverance needed to develop personal relationships and understanding in a short amount of time.
I have successfully demonstrated the skills and traits of a successful future educator as being flexible, organized, patient and
enthusiastic.

I am eager for the opportunity to continue to pursue my passion for teaching and supporting student learning,
especially in my home state of South Dakota where teachers are in need. I believe that my strong academic background
in education and my minors will complement any secondary education position at your school. I have included all
