Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my Interest and apply for the position that was advertised on
the Pierre School District website. I am a recent graduate of South Dakota State
University, with a major and teaching certification In Early Childhood Education, along
with a certification In Elementary Education that I received from Dakota State
University. I was excited to see this posting because my hope is that I can stay within
the district. I have spent the last few months student teaching at Buchanan
Elementary and have gained an abundance of knowledge during my time there. With
my experience in the district, professional experiences, and my passion for learning
and children I believe I will be a strong addition to the school.

As an undergraduate student at South Dakota State University, I took numerous

courses in child development, parent-teacher relationships, assessment and
curriculum, and teaching methods. In addition to the coursework, I also participated
in multiple field experiences including: assistant teaching in a four and five year-old
preschool classroom, teaching in a three and four year-old preschool classroom, as
well as multiple practicum experiences in first, third, fifth, and eighth grade
classrooms. Lastly, as I previously mentioned I am currently student teaching in a
third grade classroom at Buchanan Elementary in Pierre, SD.

I believe I am a great fit for Kennedy Elementary and the Pierre School District
community because I am eager to inspire, educate, and watch students grow. I look
forward to speaking with you more about how my experience and skills would be a
great fit for the position.
