Dear School Administrator,

Thank you for considering my education, skills, experience, and professional involvement in
your search. I am living in Sioux Falls, SD. I will be graduating from Dakota State University in
May 2020 with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in K-8 Educational Technology. I
have acquired the growth mindset and skills necessary for the field of education through my time
at Dakota State.

As you will see on my resume, I have a broad background of working with children in and out of
the classroom that makes me an excellent candidate for the position in your school district. My
cross-cultural experiences have uniquely shaped and equipped me to relate to a variety of people.
My excitement for teaching is currently fueled every day by my 1st grade student teaching
placement at John Harris Elementary School where I create and deliver meaningful lessons and
assist my cooperating teacher in any way I can. Outside of the classroom, I am also invigorated
by volunteering as a large group and small group Sunday school teacher for elementary age kids.

I am excited to have my own classroom. I enjoy discovering new hands-on activities for use in
my lesson plans. I believe that differentiation is an important part of the classroom and I strive to
incorporate it into all my lessons by letting students have a choice in how they access content
and show what they know. I strongly believe in student-centered teaching because it is the most
intrinsically motivating and engaging for students.

I cannot wait to put my education to work and start my career. I look forward to further
discussing my passions and experiences with you. You may reach me at (951)-295-5709 or at
