Configuring Your New
ASUS DSL-N16 Router

Open your browser and navigate to ‘192.168.1.1’.
Your default login credentials are:
Username: admin
Password: admin

Click Skip Setup Wizard in the
top left. If you are prompted to
set the security settings, click
‘OK’, then ’Next’ until greeted
with the dashboard.

Enter your desired wireless network
name and password – make sure it’s
memorable! Click ‘Apply’ and allow
the router to restart.

Go to ‘WAN’ from the left menu, then change
Transfer Mode to ‘VDSL’. Under Basic Config,

change WAN Connection Type to ‘PPPoE’.

Enable 802 1Q, change the VLAN ID

to ‘101’ and change 802 1P to ‘7’.5

Under IP Universal Settings,

change MTU to ‘1480’.

Under PPP Settings, enter the username
and password on your router sticker, then
change TCP MSS to ‘1440’. Click ‘Save’ at
the bottom of the page.
