Requirements
This release has the following requirements.

The FactoryTalk Batch View HMI Controls do not have any specific hardware requirements. It runs on any hardware platform that supports the required
software, either locally or on a virtual machine.

Ensure that all selected hardware is on the compatibility list of the operating system listed in the Software requirements section.

Systems that do not meet the minimum requirements for the version of software being used are not covered under warranty.

Addition of the SFC control

The SFC control enables the ability to command batches during FactoryTalk View SE run-time on the Details and Summary pages of the SFC. In
FactoryTalk View SE, shown as BatchViewHMI.SFC in the Insert an ActiveX Control dialog box and the Property Panel.

VBA scripting for BatchesList, PromptsList, and SFC controls

Use the ExposeToVBA setting in the Property Panel of the control to enable modification and manipulation of the BatchesList control, the PromptsList
control, and the SFC control using VBA code

  

Known Anomalies
This release has the following known anomalies.

Known Anomalies in FactoryTalk Batch View HMI Controls version 2.00

These anomalies are present in FactoryTalk Batch View version 2.00.

In the Batches List control, a "No control recipes exist" message might be displayed while the system is gathering the control recipe data. [572035]
To work around this issue, wait for recipes to load. The message disappears when they are loaded.
If a user selects a configured language in FactoryTalk View SE, and the language is not configured in the FactoryTalk Batch View Server, the user
control displays the language strings for ‘en’ (the two-digit code for English, the default language). The user control’s Language property returns ‘en’.

To work around this issue, configure the FactoryTalk Batch View Server for the missing language, and either refresh the display or re-select the
language in FactoryTalk View SE
On a computer running Windows Server 2019, uninstalling FactoryTalk Batch View HMI Controls may not remove the Batch View HMI Controls folder.
After re-installation or upgrade of the FactoryTalk Batch View HMI Controls, the controls may not function. [803903]
To work around this issue, after uninstalling FactoryTalk Batch View HMI Controls and before installing a new version of FactoryTalk Batch View HMI
Controls, delete the Batch View HMI Controls folder. The default installation location is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockwell Software\Batch\ Batch View
HMI Controls
Security granularity has changed from FactoryTalk Batch View 1.02 to 2.0. New security policies were added for FactoryTalk Batch View and
FactoryTalk Batch View HMI controls. The policies that were used by FactoryTalk Batch View 1.02 and FactoryTalk Batch View HMI Controls 1.02 are
no longer available. Security polices for these versions are exclusive to each version. Therefore, a FactoryTalk Batch View 1.02 and FactoryTalk
Batch View 2.00 system cannot share the same FactoryTalk Directory. Restoring a backup of the system folders that includes policies from a different
version of FactoryTalk Batch View removes the existing policies for FactoryTalk Batch View and the associated configuration. [899076]
To work around this issue, use different directories for the different versions of the software.

User Controls

The Base Filter property is removed from the Full control functionality. It is no longer used to filter the Batches list, Prompts list, and Equipment
pages as seen through the Full user control.
The user control has been split into four user controls, including BatchesList, PromptsList, SFC, and Full. New properties, methods, and events are
introduced in each control. 
You cannot drill into the BatchesList control to access the Batch Detail page. It has been replaced by the SFC control.
The Minimal view property is removed from the Full control functionality. However, you can set the minimal view in the Full control user profile.
When a base filter is applied while a user is viewing details of a prompt (prompt acknowledge details, prompt signature details, or prompt manual
instructions) and that base filtering action causes the item to be removed from the qualified list, the user can continue to view item details and perform
any permitted actions until navigating away from the item or when the item is removed by the FactoryTalk Batch Server.
The method for connecting to the FactoryTalk Batch View Server at run-time has changed. The Connect method is the only way to change
connection to the FactoryTalk Batch View Server at run-time, and now requires both the node and port arguments. The values of those properties get
written to the Node and Port properties, respectively. The Node and Port properties are now read-only at run-time.

Security

Security granularity has changed from FactoryTalk Batch View 1.02 to 2.0. New security policies were added for FactoryTalk Batch View and
FactoryTalk Batch View HMI controls.
If security permissions are modified for a currently logged-in user, the new permissions may not take effect until the user logs out, and then logs in
again. In previous versions, the updated security permissions would also have been applied when reloading the controls (for example: reloading or
refreshing the display graphic that contains the controls).
Languages

In the previous release of the FactoryTalk Batch View HMI Controls, languages could be set via the control or programmatically thru VBA scripting. In
this release, use FactoryTalk View SE to manage language-switching.

Connect method example

In previous releases of FactoryTalk Batch View HMI controls, you set the Node and Port properties independently of the Connect method

In this release of FactoryTalk Batch View HMI Controls, set the Node and Port properties as part of the Connect method. When the connection is successful,
the Node and Port properties are updated by the system.

The following is an example of the Connect method string:

    BatchViewHMIControl1.Connect "localhost", 443

Unattended or silent install

Use command-line parameters to perform an unattended or silent installation of the software.

Command-line parameters

The following table identifies the installation command-line parameters. Command-line parameters are case-insensitive.

Parameter Description
Silent Install, install runs in a quiet mode without any user interface.
/Q
This parameter is recommended if you are deploying the software
installation using an IT tool or script, and don’t expect to see any error or
restart messages.
Important: The system automatically restarts after the installation
completes.
To stop the automatic restart after the installation completes, use this
/NoRestart parameter.
Important: If using this option, the user must restart the system after
installation or the HMI User Controls may not work as intended.
The following example shows  how to install the software with no user interface using the default settings during the installation process. (Silent install)

    batch-controls-install.exe /Q

Linked images

It is recommended that JPEG images be used for hyperlinks. Using any other image type may result in an empty page or other unexpected behavior.

FactoryTalk View SE

Be aware of the following usage notes:

FactoryTalk Batch View Server authorization changes are reflected in the FactoryTalk Batch View HMI Controls contained in the FactoryTalk View SE
display window only after login.
In FactoryTalk View SE, login with valid credentials for new FactoryTalk Batch View authorization policy changes to be reflected in the FactoryTalk
Batch View HMI Controls.
Client and Server machines must use the same FactoryTalk Network Directory Server.
All machines running both the FactoryTalk Batch View Server and the FactoryTalk View SE Runtime Clients hosting the HMI Controls must use the
same FactoryTalk Network Directory Server. To do otherwise is not supported.
In FactoryTalk View SE, if the display client is configured to Always be on top, selecting links that open content in new windows may cause the new
window to fall behind and not be visible. Set display configuration to not be on top.
In FactoryTalk View SE, with display caching enabled, the controls are not reloaded each time the display is shown. While display caching improves
performance of the controls, the controls remain in memory until the display is flushed. Therefore, when a display is reopened with caching enabled,
the properties changed at run-time are not reverted to their design-time defaults.
